Given that naming and shaming has now been banned. Its infair that people dont know who is leaving games on big breaks. In my opinion is okay to name and shame people who leave on big breaks as long as it accompanied by a screenshot.
There has to be some penalty. Anybody that leaves a game before white flag comes up should have 20 points deducted.

But what if it's down to something like loss of internet connection?
That's what my 7 abandoned games are down to

Yes I also had tonnes of problems with my ISP when I first started playin. However I think that someones net connection goes down when somebody is on a 35+ break is very coincidental. Like out of 20 games when somebody leaves on a big break I would guess perhaps 1 maybe a problem with net connection. Rest are just sore losers who dont fancy seeing somebody finish their break.
Something has to be done. There have been enough posts about this already but nothing changes.

yes one person who i wont name i was bout to finish on a 61 break which would've been my highest yet, left and made a new game which i think is just stupid, i agree with u as there was nothing wrong with his computer. Because he had a new game made. So if something could be done id very much appriciate it.

couple of weeks ago i won a game by a 48 break but if the other person didn't leave then i would probe lav got a 70 odd beak as the colors were all on thier spots so after all the posts so far I think nick all of the threads about this should be sticky so if nick checks the forum or if mods look then nick should know and do something about it.
I av an idea that might be good is that it has to be your shot do leave and if they log of then maybe 10 or 20 points should be deducted and the maximum break that that player could get if they were allready on a 40 plus break should be awarded.

happened to me twice today - i have no doubt i would have double the half centuries if this never happened. I know i have left many games, but none of them have been when the other person has had the opportunity for any kind of 30+ break e.g. near the end of the game. This is because i do not own my pc, and other people need to use it.

2. i think that once you are in the game you cannot leave!, the only way your allowed to leave is if the opponent agree's, this way there will be no-more 'high break's' being spoilt ect. and + it shouldn't be as hard to code than the ' break carry on' that everyone is asking for as it would be far to difficult as you would be in a game on your own and would be available to other player's to join...
Good idea and easy to add. What do people think about being locked into the room? This would only count for competitive games (ranked and tournaments) - friendlies you could leave at any time.

like i said in a different thread, how about the player whos winning having to give permission for the other player to leave on their break....and if they say yes then no addition to the permenant record?

that's a good idea nick but, there is still the possibility of oponent's leaving on a break, maybe we can only leave when it is our shot?,only to occur in friendlies though.
ranked/tournament's: unable to leave at all during the game unless internet failure
friendlies: your are able to leave ONLY when it is your shot to stop people from ruining possible high break's ect.
that's my verdict on what should happen, i think it would work and would be very affective as people would more then likely get higher break's than what they have know due to people being unable to leave!

How would you 'lock' people into the game? I presume they could still 'x' the window?

Shud b other way round. can only leave in all of the games on a high break, if they do they get points 10 points off
08:36 Sun 24 Dec 06 (GMT) [Link]
Yes you could still close down the game to leave.

I think that ould help but not solve the problem. Is there any way of the server differentiating between a user initiated close and a bad connection?
09:20 Thu 28 Dec 06 (GMT) [Link]
Agree, wouldn't solve the problem completely, just another step in the right direction.

Well, we could have double deductions if it was a ranked game if they left under their own free will ONLY.
As it was said:
I can't think of anything for friendly games, maybe an autoboot feature for leaving under your own free will?
