There isn't much people on at Saturdays so there wouldnt be no point and if there is no limit it would take ages if there would be alot to enter, it takes 2hours as it is with 64 people!

Marathon tour were on pool as it was suited, pool is quick to finish as Tricky said it wouldnt work on snooker as it takes considerably alot longer to complete ....we could be sitting here for over 4 hours!

it would work if the marathon tournament was played in arcade snooker because the game doesn't last as long.

I think it would be interesting to stick closer to the real snooker rules. A few ideas:

1. when someone is snookered and misses, the other can decide to place the balls back, and the one who missed tries the same shot

2. free balls: when, after a missed shot, the cue ball doesn't see totally an 'on' ball, the player can name any ball to be a red and play it as if it was

3. in some cases, a player should name the ball he's playing before he shoots (eg. he's shooting at colour, if he names blue and hit green, it'll be a foul, 5 points penalty)

4. and, a very easy one: when only blue/pink/black are on the table, if the cue ball doesn't hit any ball, it's a 5/6/7 points penalty, and not 4 (mainly because of ball naming stated in 3.)

some tricky ideas there blutch although good ideas.

Well Nick, i would like to see a default setting for the spin brought in! It cant be hard and would save alot of people alot of time and slight misjudgements with getting spin back to normal. Please

Well my ideas are not tricky, snooker rules are

Oh and another one:
5. If you are snookered, you can miss as many times as you want (but giving penalty points to the opponent ofc), BUT if you are NOT in a snookered position (ie., you can hit directly an 'on' ball, and you miss 3 times, you lose the frame.

The main problem with the things I pointed out is that they are yes tricky, and most people won't even understand them, or at least won't take time to read and try to understand them.

A gameplay-related query:
When you spin the cue ball, the hardest you shoot, the less it will affect the cue ball's path after hitting a ball.

That's a bit illogic, eg. when you shoot really softly with a big spin. "A big spin" just means that you shoot on the top (or bottom) of the cue ball, "softly" means how hardly you shoot.
Well... if you shoot softly, it just won't give much spin to the cue ball.
And if you shoot very hardly, it's supposed to give much spin to the cue ball, affecting its path quite a lot.

And, of course, distance should affect the back spin. If your cue ball travels 3 meters to another ball, friction forces will lower its back spin. But that may become really difficult to implement

I like that rule a lot. it would make the game more realistic. but arcade snooker is for fun and i dont fink the rules shud change for that but original snooker is a lot more realistic and more realistic rules shud come into it eg free ball, 3 misses forefit, retake after a foul etc etc

as far as im aware if you do foul on blue, pink or black it is a 5/6/7 points penalty isnt it
