I don't experience any lag whatsoever, except when i'm on my mates computer...which is crap anyway.

Not really made any difference for me.

In game play hasn't changed so it's probably not to do with the new version. Possibilities:
- It's caused by certain adverts due to your Shockwave version
- It's caused by an installtion of a new Java version
- It's caused by other programmes running

Do you know how to use your Task Manager? Right click the bottom taskbar, click Task Manager, click Processes on the Task Manager top tab.

Then click CPU to sort processes by CPU time. Then you will be able to see what is using all your computer processing time.

You need to ditch the generic graphic drivers and install the ones recommended on your distro's forum. use swiftfox as well, goes like a rocket!

Because lag is caused by your own setup not the website.

Each computer is different, i've worked an awful lot with lag over on the poolsite which is exactly the same in that respect.

Common problems :

Adobe flash version 9 - this is incredibly slow and resourse hungry
ATI graphics Drivers - conflicts with Java, use alternated drivers (search the pools site game queries for the links)
MSN Live messenger - conflicts with the flash ads causing major lag.

Those have been the big 3 among those i've helped out over on pool.

The reason i got lap on my PC was the fact that i had to many things on at one time, ie, music, msn this causes lag with a PC

my saying is that if you are using a athlon i DO NOT like athlon the first computer i bought was a athlon 800 and that was the worst computer i had not i have a intel pentium 4 with 2gig memory in it, and the processor is a 2.8 so i do not suffer from lag.


or with the new version on my pc which is poo might i add, i suffered from lag alot when i had the home page up while i was playing so have a go at closing the home page or any other website's that you have on.cand everything should be tip top..

and your sofware might be slowing your computer down, just go into add and remove programs which is located in the control panel. and get rid of all the stuff that you dont need.

Follow this if your using IE....

It helps ALOT!

Disable Sun's VM
a) On IE, select "Tools"
b) Select "Internet Options"
c) Select "Advanced"
d) Scroll down to Java (Sun)
e) Deselect the chekbox
f) Press "OK" to confirm the dialog boxes
g) Bookmark this page if necessary; then close and reopen your browser window.

am on a NEW G5 dual processor power mac!!!

Wont mater what you're on if it aint setup right!

my old 350mhz laptop plays the game just fine on 33k dialup, so machine and connection are irrelevant.

I'm not mening to be negative, just emphasise the point that lag is a very "individual" thing.

If you were on a proper PC, i'd be glad to help, but cant do so for your machine i'm afraid.

If you think it's caused by the adverts then simply role back to Flash Player Version 8 (if you use v9, as explained, it can cause a problem). If not then try disabling animations on your internet options if you use IE.

Msn is a big problem. Messenger can be fine but v7 and onwards seem to be the worst hit.

As usual, downloading, transfering, recieving, uploading and scanning can contribute 90% of the time. Also having many other windows or applets open can cause it.

It's trial and error, but if you can pin-point the source then thats great. Most of the time it is caused by something on your system and could just be coincidental that it happens just when the site is updated. From what i know, i the last update Nick only made upgrades to the site alone, not the server.
