I was thinking if this would be at all possible... have an extra 10 places in the tourney outside of the normal 64 and if anyone goes offline and is DQ'd from there game within the first minute then the 'next' person would fill in.... (Yeah I think I was entrant no 65 for this tourney tonight ooops)

Yeah, good idea. I don't know why they don't just make it so everyone could join in the tourny. Thats what its like over on pool.

yeah but if the origanal places were extended say 80 i think there should stil be 10 reserve places!

I checked at 8:01 and there was 55 people that was already in it. Thats how much people want to get in it!

The difference between here and pool is the length of each round.

I guess it would be worth extending it to 128 max though, that would only add 20 minutes to the tourney but double the entrants.

Spinner, some ppl dont wanna go in tourny, so we might only use up 70 odd out 128, thats 40 more. Almost a whole tourny.

Not sure what you mean, but if only 70 people enter then thats the problem, those 58 players with byes have to sit and wait till the first 12 have finished.

Many people wont be bothered with that.

What does bother people is that if there's, say, 30 secs left before the tournament start and there's say 62 people entered, and then you get refused cos the tournament is full (proving you were just too late) and then 6 people get DQ'ed for being offline, whereas you were ready and willing to play.

Suggestion:
- give each entrant a number (or each candidate entrant past the 64)
- then the draw for round 1 takes place, and those who aren't online are DQ'ed as usual
- distribute the remaining places to the overflow in the order that they registered (making sure that any of those who are logged out aren't considered)

Example: 75 people register. 12:10 or 8:10 comes along, and 6 players are logged out. Players 65-70 receive Rd 1 invites. If one of players 65-70 is logged out, player 71 takes their place, etc.
