The point in tournaments is to give people more fun on funkysnooker. If there is no point to them why do people play them?

So what if you can play ranked games, do that if you want to like forfeit says, because you don't like tournaments doens't mean everyone else should lose out.

Fair enough there is no prizes for if you win a tournament, but they are still a really good part of the site, an enjoyable thing to do.

I think a huge incentive to play is just the challenge of winning them. It's like saying, why do you play a sport and try to win. Because you want to know you can be the best at what you do. The people who win the tournaments are often some of the best players we have on snooker. Tournaments are a way to not only meet new users, but a way to play the game in a fun way. Tournaments add excitement to the game, and also give others a chance to compare themselves to others.

yeah thats the big problem - time. Original tournaments can take 2and a half hours, now I've got to have a lot of time to burn to be patient enough to play in them!

tournaments can be a laugh though - is basically like playing friendlies but if you win them it shows that you are pretty good

i meant exactly what breed said, i was trying to give an example with the sports thing, but i guess it was all in vain...

why dont the winners get some points!!! that would be a good idea.... then there really is something to play for?

its the fun of playing random players and you do get a mention on your profile of your tornie wins

i think the top 2 shud get some points though and i think if u want 2 enter a tornie you would have 2 give some points up

If you have to give some points up then I think less people will enter, especially people who believe they don't have any chance of winnin but they enter the tournament for the fun of it.

points for winners is ace idea!

perhaps have edge modification on the points so if hes on 1000 he cant get any higher

we don't just "get things done" the mods are not responsible for tech additions to this site. and not all users are in favor of tournaments being ranked. the chat will go on, because it is still up for discussion

You can still play ranked games in between each phase of a tournament anyway. Its at your own discretion of course!

The top 2 getting points for winning just isn't going to happen.
I dont personally enter tournament's, Think i've only ever entered 2.
