I was wondering if when you click on a players room that you may want to play, that in the room description it could have the owner of the rooms rank so that way u dont have to keep bobbing in and out of rooms trying to find a player with a similar rank to ures. what do you think?

i think this has been mentioned before, maybe by magicblack??? i definitely agree it would be a very quick and easy way so you didn't have to run in and out

of course there will be people who say "everyone should play everyone!" but its a great idea

Yup, I've begged for it on here and snooker. Would be a fantastic way of solving a few problems. I'm pretty confident it will be a future update as there has never been an opposing view (even Spinner came to) and it should be easy to implement.

Definately a good idea....makes complete sense......

Same issue came up on pool, and one the the better players did say..."everyone should play everyone"......yeah right did he with his 850 plus rank play newbies etcetc and risk losing a bunch of points....

people who say that are surely hypocrates.

ye i was waiting for an opponent and i was practicing i was on around 40 and going well wen a 700 rank come in and left immideatly only for my break to be ruined; so i thought that this may stop this aswell as not having to bob in and out of peoples rooms

we need this very very soon, i made a game saying 900 and over only, only to find that the first 10 people to join were well below that rank. Very annoying

Er Magic - i always suggested it. (as an alternative to the restrictive methods usually suggested)

Jeezo i spent about 3 years trying to get the point across in so many different ways i all but gave up!

Well, so long as it happens eventually i dont mind

(Nice to see you think you were back on pool too )

If I don't recall, you always advocated a 'everyone plays everyone' policy, then you finally came to, anyway, nevermind!

All i was opposed to, and still am, is placing active restrictions on who can enter a game.

Everyone playing everyone is the only way the ranking system stays genuine. However just as there will always be good players as newbies, there will be players who select rank to artificially benefit themselves.

I always suggested that displaying the rank of the room owner would be a good compromise so that those who want to be selective can be, without hindering others.

Personally i agree with everyone plays everyone, since the ranking adjustments mean it makes no real difference to points gained or lost (although plenty still misunderstand and get in a tizzy about it).

However, even moreso than on pool, finding a player of equal skill is important especially if you just have an hour for a couple of games, and though not ideal, rank is the best method on offer.

Maybe Nick will let us have his current thoughts on this.

As often said - maybe a premium feature?

and also to quote on spinners thread, 9/10 times the room owner is not actually the person in the room, the owner usually leaves after a game or 2 and the opponent then keeps the room awaiting another player, i do understand what is being said but it seems a hard task to implement, having to go to the trouble of coding who is in the room not the owner of the room, seems a very arduous task

Thats a very good point.

Clearly we need the details of the occupier of the room displayed, though it should be easier to grab thier details than those of the original room creator.
