Hi everyone!! (I'm popping my posting cherry!)

So I was thinking, there's no real advantage to getting a good white ball in this game. If you get it tight to the cushion then your opponent can still put any spin they like on it. I was wondering if it would be possible, if the white ball ends up right against the cushion, for the bottom half of the white to be shaded out, allowing you to only put top spin on the ball. What do you think??

Also... I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if when setting up a game there was a "Best Of" option, with 3,5,7,9 etc. Then if an oppenent logs out after one game they forfit three-games-worth of points. Obviously you still had the choice whether to start the game or not!!

similar thread on pool. The thread suggests that people would like the option to play a series but people losing connection etc would find this unfair. I think its a good idea but maybe not to lose 3 games worth of points. Imagine if your connection dropped and you lost all those points...... wounding.

But surely there's no point having a "Best Of" if you can just quit if you're losing without any points going!

I like the idea of the shaded out white ball, but as for the "best of" feature, im not too sure, some users here cheat to help their friends rank rise, this can only be spotted by seeing the results individually, if we handed these "players" the option of best of 9 ranked, "player A breaks off, player B" leaves room, player A gains maybe as much as 20-30 points in one sitting,

Maybe for the time being just name your room "best of 3,5,7,9" etc

thats a great idea but it would make the game a lot harder. it is already hard enough. original anyway

since when do you find the game hard curtisorren lad.you seem to have mastered it quite fine

This has been on the "coming soon" list for a long time, but as mentioned on the pool thread, requires a 3D game engine.

It will certainly be a nice update though.

Not necesssarily. Look at the success of arcade snooker for example!

I really don't think it's taking the fun away from the game!? That's a bit of a silly comment to be honest. I was only making a suggestion... which is surley the point of this whole forum.

shading out the white ball will almost certainly stop people from ever getting centuries or decent breaks. Far too much extra skill would be needed for that and again will put more people off from playing the game. As spinner said arcade snooker is so successful and it is supposed to be easy - for the fun factor. In my view the fun will definitely be taken out of the game especially in original snooker if this was implemented - and would see many people leave the site as it would be very frustrating while breaking.

ok Jess lol, i am not trying to seem grumpy but arcade is very good as it is. Maby it would work on original though
