i was thinking, there should be tournaments where the player has to say put 10 points to enter it, and then the winner of the tourney recieves points as a prize, whats anybody think?

ye would be good but the good players would win a lot of tournaments and get passed the 1000 mark.

plus the newbies and other members who just enter for the craic would be unfair as the better players tend to win more

Also, 10 points? Would the winner then get every point entered into it? If that was a 64 player tournament, that would be 640 points won, and would definately put the winner past 1000.

Maybe you could have it so you 'Bet' a certain number of points, then if you do win, you get that number multiplied by the amount of people you beat.

So say that I bet 4 points when I entered, and it was a 7 round tournament and I played in all rounds.

Should I win I would get 4 x 7 which would be 28 points. And then maybe a maximum of 5 points can be put on. But you have the option of wether to bet or not. And you only get the points if you win.

Also it could be if it was a 7 round tournament and you got beaten in the 1st round (7 rounds left) you would lose 4 x 7 points (28), but then say you got beaten in the 4th round (3 rounds left) you would lose 3 x 4 points (12).

Any thoughts?

Then you enter at your own risk... Give up 10 with the chance of 50 (Or however many you would win) or never get your points back. But to be honest, to a high ranked player, 10 points isn't that big an amount.

i think you should get something for winning. 20 points or something

sorry lads but this whole betting points lark is just not gonna work if you dont want people getting past the 1000 point mark

aww, i wanted it to be 10 point's from every player who entered, was going to enter the 128 player tournament ( hoping 128 actually join ) then that would mean i'd gai 1280 point's = never have to play another game again ... say i was 800.0, i would be 2080.. = legend!, wow, just from one tournament win

tbh think this is a very nice idea, however, instead of making it winner takes all of the *points taken in* set it as a %, so, 50% winner, 35% second, 15% 3rd or whatever.

Obviously numbers would have to be crunched for realistic values, but sumit like 5/10 points entry fee, 40/50 for winner should be ok
