I just had a brainwave - how about separating the tourneys via their ranking, so that there is one half of a tourney with all the.. for example 775+ ranked players on one side playing each other, and all others on the other side, so that the quarter finals or some other round has a mix of high and low ranks, to provide some more fun for those that get drawn against the awesome players.
of course, you would have to change the cut off point for the two rounds depending on the amount of players... but its just a thought. what do you think?

not a bad idea but its fine as it is at the moment...its just a random draw and i think it will stay like it...nice idea though

although the random draw is good cos u dont know what youre getting...

the thing is why should we be punished for having a high rank so we get a hard player if anything it should be seeded so the good players miss each other until the third round but i think it should be left well alone!

well i think that the highest ranked player in the tourney is Number 1 Seed... and then so on for the top 50 in it. Then the rest are unseeded. And when you go in your tourney game, it has your seed in brackets on the bit where it says

gavinbrash (professional. #49 Seed) vs 2good (virtuoso. #4 seed)

and it also says that on the tournament main page too, as in;

gavinbrash (49) 0-0 2good (4)

but that shud go on win and loss difference the seedings really,

basically seeding the tourneys and separating the draw for a few rounds, keeping low and high ranked players apart. this keeps the conpetition high for the higher players and gives the lower ones a chance to have some form of wildcard entry to the later rounds

i dont understand this. the whole point of seeding is to seed the top players so that they play the worse players and avoid other high rankers until the later rounds to make the tournament more exciting. Th etotal opposite of what your saying. I would like to see seedings in the manner i have explained cos it makes for a better semi and final.

i agree with a ranking system put in the tournaments...it shows the top players how good they are compared to the rest entered in the tourny

Yeah I like the idea mate and that way lower ranked players know where they stand on this game!

I'm not so keen on the way of keeping the lower ramked players apart from the higher ranked players. Though I do think it would be good giving them a rank in the tournament? Though this would only work for up to the 50th highest ranked player on the game, until (If) the rank position is implemented on your profile, in which case it would look them all up...


So basically it would say:

Toontomh (92)
Damee (12)
Boz_Lad (1)
etc.

This could also be put on the results are, e.g.:

Toontomh (92) 0-1 (12) Damee
