how about wen u are chatting to someone, a little message appears when your friend is writing a message. This idea is from msn, and i think it could work well here. What are your views ppl?

This has been suggested several times, along with flashing the message window taskbar button, alertnoises etc..

However, the subject generally comes down to the thought that if you want MSN style features, simply use MSN.

No need to re-invent the wheel so to speak
