i know this has already been brought up so dont tell me it has but it was a good idea so i wanted to see what people thought of it now.
The idea is to only be able to apply top spin to the ball when on a cusion
thoughts?

would make it more realistic, but remember this is funky snooker. People find it hard enough already, although normal snooker is aimed at being a simulation, so would need nicks thoughts on it, personally I'm not for the idea, as break building would become even more difficult.

Well actually, the problem with this idea is that topspin isn't the only spin you can put on. You can put sidespin on, and more importantly you can put backspin on, this is possible if you jack the cue up in the air.
So as it is I think that Nick has got the spin and such right.

well i think leaving the spin how it is on arcade is fine but maybe change it for original if possible as that is the more realistic game of the two.

Just to clarify what alex said above - a 3D game engine (not display - theres a big difference!) would be required due to what Sean pointed out.
People would need to be able to select the cue angle, which then needs to be included in the calculations. All complicating the game both for user and Nick alike.
If down the line there are more simulation based games added, then yes, this would be a great addition.
