For a bit of variety we have launched a new Arcade Snooker Marathon Tournament.

As we are giving it a trial, it will be a 'once only' tournament for the timebeing. If it proves popular then we will make it a weekly occurance.

The tournament will commence saturday evening at 8pm.

As it is a marathon tournament, it will be much larger and longer:

- Up to 128 players can enter

- Rounds are 1 frame as normal

- Quarter finals first to 2 wins

- Semi finals first to 3 wins

- Finals first to 4 wins

I am open to any feedback before or after the tournament (e.g. any problems that may occur). Again, if it proves a success then we may add it as a permanent feature.

nice one why 8 oclock though? wat about the 7 oclock one?

Thats the problem, it may clash but if i moved the other torns it would effect the whole weekly timetable.

i think this is a good new feature and would like to see it become permanent it a different style of tornament more about skill than 1 off games

actually farren that might turn out 2 be a good idea because pros (not virts) like me will fancy a chance of winnin one of the 2 differnt tournys because we will no that virts may enter the later one or vice versa!

so thats the only tourny saturday then??? thats what it says on the timetable.

Oh, yeah the others should go as normal.

Timetable may look a little different then normal but it should work as usual.

very nice addition luke, but as it's only a one off, can we try it with orignal aswell? if that fail's to attract 100+ player's then we won't be having a second trial, but as it is a 'once only' i think it's worth a try (because i prefer orignal.. when i can play it).

It's an idea. Unfortunatly, original snooker tournaments are very long anyway so taking it further may be too much.

If it works how i want it to then ill make it weekly/twice weekly. I can do any changes if nessesary. Couple of things like length of a round and time slot of the torn i can change if needed. Also if first to 4 seems too long in finals (up to 7 frames!) then i can reduce it. It's more to test its components rather than its popularity at this stage.
