just wondering why you can't copy and paste text in pm boxes and chat rooms and if there was a possibilty you will be able to in future?

for example if someone puts a link in your pm box and you ca'nt click it to bring it into anew window, you can simply copy and paste instead of typing it all out... i know its lazy-ness from me but hey! lol

You can paste, you just cant copy text (you can copy links though ruthless, just right-click, and select copy shortcut).

Why would you want to be able to copy what someone else has written anyway?

Copying someone elses text to post elsewhere is an invasion of privacy (not to mention you can edit it before doing so).

On the links note - the only reason links wont work is if you have a popup blocker (or use firefox), just add funkysnooker.com to the excepted sites and click away

yer i thought so mate becuase i can click the link on my pc and its sorted and another window pops up.. but on this computer im on now, it won't come up...

i mainly wanted it for links only... no point copy and pasting peoples text due to the reasons you stated

Well spinner, i don't see that it really matters, because right now people just take print screens of the convo anyways. and print screens can be easily editted also. Would be much more convienent to just copy and paste

I'm a bit concerned why people would want to copy a conversation at all though. At the very least its an invasion of privacy.

It takes a fair amount of skill and time to manipulate a screen capture. I suspect if people want to be dishonest and post other peoples writings they will do so no matter what, however those viewing such things should always remember to treat them with caution.

I dont know if it works in firefox, but in IE you can right-click the link and select "copy shortcut", that copies the link to your clipboard.

Remember that if it is a case where you want a member of staff to see what has been said, always use the send complaint button. Screenshots etc cannot be used for this purpose for the reasons already stated.
