Championship side Coventry sprung a major surprise by sending a re-shuffled Manchester United crashing out of the Carling Cup at Old Trafford.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson changed his entire team from Sunday's win against Chelsea and paid the price.
Coventry, backed by 11,000 fans, went ahead after 27 minutes when Michael Mifsud turned in Michael Doyle's cross.
And Mifsud killed off United with 20 minutes left, firing high into the net after good work from Jay Tab.
Get In there City!
I'm not a big coventry fan although
they are my home town team
however i do have a big dislike
for Manchester United so to
all those United fans on the game
I say HA to you all

Aha the standard response when United lose a CC game but if ye win the competition then its "one cup is better than no cup".
Believe me, Mr Alex Ferguson wouldnt have been too happy about that result last night.

dont get me wrong im never happy at losing, especially to a championship side, but ye it is only a mickey mouse cup, and i think the fact that all the big teams give their youngsters a run out in it shows that. if we win it yes of course its better than no cup, but not too bothered if we dont. There are other bigger and better cups were after and playing our best team in the carling cup could hinder us in other competitions!

Spot on that mate!, Unfortunatelty i have lost money on this but, i am not too fussed as many say, it is only the mickey mouse cup but putting out nani anderson and eagles should be enough to kill off ceventry though, i am disapointed that we lost don't deny that, but i also think there are better cups... treble still on though

Spot on there. If Sir Alex was asked do you want to win the premiership again or the league cup i am pretty sure he would say the premiership

I love it when Man U get knocked out of a cup, but hate it when they make up stupid reasons...It happens with the FA Cup as well..."We're concentrating on the league"...You're not though, you're out of a cup so you're pretending you didn't want to win it!
I'm not going to deny anything, I would have been happy if Newcastle won the Carling Cup, and I'm dissapointed that we're out (don't say a thing Rick! ), but we we're outplayed, and it sounds like Man U were, so why can't you just take defeat instead of making excuses?

Utterly humiliating for United.
£34m combined Nani and Anderson were playing, and the whole Arsenal team that played Newcastle were worth less than that.
Now you see why Wenger doesnt buy many English players.
Ever wondered why you never find any English players in other European leagues?
Most dont have the basic required technique or skill, just hoofball.

lol dont make me laugh you mug! we were outplayed, well done coventry, but if we would have wanted the carling cup we wouldnt have made 11 changes from the team that beat chelsea. and no we never say that about the FA cup, at least real supporters dont. fergie always respects the FA cup and plays a decent team! but at the end of the day our priorities are the premiership and the champions league!!

That's the thing though, they're only your priorities when you're out of the tournament...If Man U didn't care about the Carling Cup, how come they still managed to get to the final then win 4-0 a couple of years ago without having a care in the world about winning it or not?
You only have other priorities when you're out the tournament!
