Don't think it should be made so that the better players play the worse players in the earlier rounds. So what if worse players get further on. We're people complaining when Cardiff got to the FA Cup final? Even though they didn't beat any of the favourties to win to get there...

bit of topic but i think there should be a tournament once a week where only people who have won tournies before can enter..

Yeah, good idea, but you can't be sure they will all be online at the time, and wanting to enter this tourny, so it just might result in a failure.
..As for the tournament draw: Take randomness away at all, or leave it as it is. No point in having a random 1st round draw, and then structured games.

I dont think that its a good idea to take away randomness for the first round at all. For any system that is used there are people who benefit and those who are disadvantaged. In general seeding for a tournament tends to be be the norm only where tournament results are included as part of the rankings. In this case it is difficult to see how a fair seeding system can be implemnted as tournaments are unranked - for example an good player who only plays tournament games may have a very modest ranking.
Structuring subsequent matches is not that bad an idea (especially if accompanied by a good graphic ) and in keeping with real life snooker tournaments.

Good graphic? That might be hard to implement.. but I cannot be sure so I'm not arguing.
Anyway, about your point on rankings ..that's why in one of my previous posts I mentioned rankings/wins, whichever is the most accurate pattern.

I think, instead of having a random draw for every round of a tournament, it should be done at the start (as it is) and then have a proper tournament structure i.e winner of match 1 vs winner of match 2, semi final 1 is winner of QF1 vs winner of QF2 etc....
Don't get me wrong, i don't think there's anything wrong with the current format, but i think it would be interesting to be able to map out your prospective path through a tournament....
... Thoughts??

I really like the original idea of seeing your path through a tournament, but I don't really see the point in yoyoyo's idea. Why would there be a restricted tourney?to make them quicker?

to be honest i think rather than make it for previous winners only, you should make it non-newb... since people can make multi accounts and creep up on an unexpecting player and killllll them :D... also if they are newb maybe they should get to know the game before entering a tourny and getting nowhere
