I think, instead of having a random draw for every round of a tournament, it should be done at the start (as it is) and then have a proper tournament structure i.e winner of match 1 vs winner of match 2, semi final 1 is winner of QF1 vs winner of QF2 etc....

Don't get me wrong, i don't think there's anything wrong with the current format, but i think it would be interesting to be able to map out your prospective path through a tournament....

... Thoughts??

The byes still work the same way its just the tournament structure that changes. Yeah good idea mate

So what's the point of taking the randomness away after the 1st round?
The new structure of the tournament will still be based on the randomness of the 1st round.
If there should be a structure, let there be one from the mere beginning of the tournament.

One thing that is not fair, is playing your most challenging opponent in the first rounds (where you only get to play 1 frame).
I would be in favour of a structure based on tournament wins/rankings, or leave it as it is.

well... it would be hard for newcommers to get far into the tournament if their gonna be put up against the top player..

thats the point though.. they shouldn't be able to get through to the far rounds without playing any one good!

xD well.... i think the formatted tournament matches should be made and the first round chosen randomly as the thing says :D
