Pele was without a doubt a fabulous player, but i think Maradona was a better player i understand he used his hands and was famous for it but he was still an exceptional player!.

I think in 3-4 years and Cristiano Ronaldo will be gifted as the world's greatest EVER player wha that man does with a ball is just phenomenal.

If you don't mind me saying though, i don't think neither Pele or Maradona was the greatest ever player, I would quite happily say that was the Late George Best was the greatest player to ever step foot on a football pitch.

Lads, Maradona and pele were the class of their decades but all this jibba jabba about ronaldo being best player in the world is nonsense, he is a great player and scores 5 goals against derby and every1 is amazed? there was never any intense training back in the old days, and they were always on the lash! And played for £20 a week...not like the "stars" today....
also, pele and maradona didnt have rooney, giggs, schools, tevez, nani, anderson, carrick behind them making the goals....so you cannot compare different generations

I was watching football years 2 on sky three last night and it was 1999/2000 season and they had a poll on who was the best footballer of the century and funnily enough pele and maradona both won it. Weird eh? Well Pele was the first to recieve the award with millions of votes from across the world, whereas maradona recieved the award a few hours later when a catastrophic number of votes came in all at once from argentina... you decide.

I find it amazing how people can compare Ronaldo, whose had one good season, to Pele and Maradona, its impossible. Pele and Maradona proved that they were great on the International stage, Ronaldo has only yet proven he is a cheat on the Internation stage. And as Cue said, I could score that amount of goals in todays Manchester United team, they're that skilled overall.

And ask for George Best, undoubtably gifted yet that fact that David Healy has scored more International goals shows he isnt in the quite the same league as Pele and Mardona.

For me Maradona is the best.
