I have had a few incidents now where if i was playing in real life i would of had a free ball. Why is there no free ball's on here?

should be introduced by now to be honest.

The one problem with the free ball rule is that it would give a whole new complexion on the maximum breaks! The people that have loads of max's on arcade, then get a bigger break with the free ball rule, all them occurences would just simply disapear. So i suggest a new stat if this was introduced.

You have got to remember how hard it is also to do this becuase nick would somehow have to be able to make it give a free ball for some shots and not for others so would be extremly difficult on his half

totally agree, take sean_paul for instance all them 107's would just be lost, wouldn't be fair, i say do the free ball but like damee says change the stats and make a new one, more logical really.

A free ball is given under this circumstance:

If the object ball(s) can not be hit on either side of it.

Then if that rule should be brought to power i personally think that all the other's should be intruduced too!

Such as, Replace ball after a foul shot (but this can be really annoying so only limit it)

and Chalk!! and after winning tournaments u shud get like 2 funkysnooker points and that can be used to purchase cool things on the site such as fancie cue's :P

this would bring funkysnooker into a whole new era of online snooker.

This is the foul and a miss rule, impossible to code as the ref judges if it deserves the 'miss' so that's a no go.



Why? Bit pointless. And fancy cue's? You see the cue for about a second and no one pays attention to it.

I know there is a free ball situation in use over on pool (sorry dont ask where, Im not very au fait with pool these days) so it could be just a matter of porting it over to snooker.

Spinner reckons it should be coming down the line sometime (dont ask when) which is fair indication that it actually will be implemented at some time.

As for the lost high breaks......well Im pretty sure sean_paul, ste_efc, ragefire and all the rest will still make their way to the top of the new leaderboard. What we would lose with regards to high breaks would be overshadowed by the good things that the free ball would introduce.

One problem for Nick that I've just thought about is determining a Free Ball in the situation where your opponent goes in-off and you have a ball in hand. Not quite as easy to work out all the possible vectors from everywhere on the 'D' than with the white in a single position .

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it! I was just considering the programming difficulties for Nick.
