Unfortunately so many people have been hacked on funkysnooker/pool and has resulted in a banning or getting deleted and i think thats harsh!

So i was thinking..

Most hackers intend to sit there for hours trying to figure out what someone's password is (sad i know!) but how about having a 3 attempt thing, so if i was about to hack someone i would only get 3 chances. As i failed on the third attempt i would get a temporary ban on snooker but to get your self un-banned you would have to use "contact us" to explain your reason as to why you have typed in the wrong password three times!

Thoughts?

i dont think you should have to explain yourself.. because surely a hacker could just make something up? or maybe if u fail after three attempts.. you get an email to re-validate your account

i seriously think we should have a email log in system that way people's account are safe.

Problem here is anyone can simply play around with your password just so you have to go through all the trouble of revalidating it etc plus if you forget your own pass, you can manually send a validation email anyway i think.

Simplest way is to keep your pass unguessable then it shouldn't be an issue at all. All the 'hacker' can do is waste his/her time trying to get into an account they have no chance of getting.

But if you did the 3 password attempt the Admin team would be able match the IP trying to gain access to the Account and the IP of Account owner, so therefor would be kept safe, And would be simple to get it unbaned if you wish to continue playing.

If somebody guess's your password that has nuthing to do with a hacker thats just somebody whos got no life and just sits there trying to bruteforce, but on most sites passwords are hacked due to somebody getting into the password database on the server. Which if they do you can't do nuthing about!
