i think it would be a nice addition to have a 5 star rating on your profile. I thought you could be able to go on a players profile and put cursor over the star you would rate them and it shows there current overall rating in a bolder colour over the stars.

Not a bad idea, but your friends could all vote highly for you, or, alternatively, if you had annoyed someone they could vote you poorly so I'm not sure whether it would be a true reflection.

This would easily get abused and become pointless.

to tell how good a player is i look at their rank which tends to show more detail than a 5 star rating would. However, to show how "nice" or reasonable the player is opponents could rate the player after a game out of 5 and this could be shown

Good idea, sadly it would simply get abused, like ste said. And even with pieceofpig's idea, that would get abused just as much. Also, this game isn't about whether a person is nice or not, its about hpw good they are at snooker. A good idea for myspace, but not for funkysnooker.

personally i dont like the idea anyway. but thats just me as already said. you only have to look at a players profile to see how good (or not) they are

That was aimed at pieceofpig's idea about using it for how nice someone is. Not something a snooker website needs, but more suited for social networking in general.

I still think sam's original idea is a good one, but due to the huge risk of it being abused, wouldn't like to see it implemented.
