Just to let you know that a small bug was found in the Target Report Calculations (thanks to redrebellion) and this was fixed a couple of days ago.

However, I neglected to post the fact that I'd uploaded the new version to my website. This will only effect anyone who downloaded (and saved) the program prior to this - to whom I apologise. If you have saved it to your PC, you just need to download the current version (don't worry about your current data, it won't be effected).

Great work! Tested and working under ubuntu linux 8.04 & wine 1.0.


However it's lagging a lot everytime it reloads the whole lists (whenever I type a number, change tab, or even close the program). But it's probably due to my relatively weak computer...

A few ideas to improve the performances and usability:
1) Add a new field where the user can enter how many lines he wants to calculate, instead of having the hardcoded 2000.
2) Add a "show milestones only" checkbox: when checked, it would only show the lines that make you win/lost 1 percent, and not all the lines between them, which actually don't give the user any useful information.

it lags when typing the numbers in as its calculating the list say u have 1000 wins... you type 1 it calculates 1 to 2000 then you type in 0 it now calculates 10 to 2010 and so on... it aint your computer.... great improvement ideas tho... and im sure once buddy gets back of holiday he'll be coding away lol.

redrebellion hit the nail on the head - I'll be on to it as soon as I get back. The lag because of recalculating on each key input as opposed to when the field loses focus, I agree was a bad decision on my part but was made in an earlier version where there was less processing on the lists to maintain selection syncronisation - it was on my hit list already . Like the other ideas too - makes me wish I'd brought the code with me to have a potter around

I'm sorry i just don't get it... why can't you guys work these stats out for yourself? I can work all my stats out in much less time than it takes to download a file and put the data in? Am i missing the point or is this aimed at the mathematically challenged users?

Anyway its not even the most useful of stats, i don't really care if i can increase my win percentage by 1. More useful would be software which you could put in your rank, and a potential opponents rank and it could work out how many points you would win/lose by playing this opponent.

thats a very good point and echo's what i was thinking.

win percentage variations are the simplest of stats to work out, not taking anything away from someone taking their first steps at programming at all, its a neat little app, just a little pointless without a meaningful application.
