This is the newest Hogwarts based RPG site around, set 30 years after the fall of voldemort. The school is exactly as you remember it, but the staff have changed (so no canons). As I said the site is new so we need all the support we can get, please check it out.

It is a game, it's a forum based RPG so the actions are all written, if that makes any sense.

Nah, we find a forum offers a lot more freedom for character interaction, because you are writing it, you arent limited to the set amount of actions a program would offer.

I'd prefer to be able to visually explore things.

Well that is your opinion, but if you have read the books, you already know what the castle looks like, and if it was a visual program, your character would be limited to actions which are pre programmed in, and that imho, leads to a more stunted gameplay experience.

But everyone is different, that is what makes life worth living

Indeed, take this game for instance, i could visualise me getting 10,000 147's, but it wouldnt be as fun as actually doing it

Ok, if you wanna use this as an example, you can play a game and get a 147. But say you wanna do a trick shot, or you want a game of billiards. Can't do it, cos you are limited by the visual program.

lol, its very simple, if you have a very small brief i.e. a game of snooker, then the visual is far superior to the written. But in such a massive task as creating a school to learn magic, the program would need to be so big as to be untenable, and would cost a hell of a lot of money to make, so i think my way is better

how do u learn magic ?? by writing that you have learnt a spell ?
and how u do lessons ??

Basically, it's a forum where they have role-play for example *gets out wand* like there was a thread over on pool and i think on here called booze cruise, where everyone pretended to be on a booze cruise.

Something like that lol, in a vague way.

As for lessons I don't know how other teachers will do it but my stuff is a case of answering questions, for example on incantations and their effects, and setting tasks for students to complete, and yes, that will after a fashion involve writing that you had performed a spell.
