i think this shoud be differant..
i think you should lag to see who goes first
that way skill in the lag could win you a frame instead of makeing a good clearence and then he pots it
any ideas ?

I fully agree (as will 99% of the people here).

Lag idea is the fairest way of dealing with it in my opinion.

decent idea. as it is now, the person who is behind and pots the black to tie, gives the respot shot to the other person, who obviously has a pretty easy shot to pot and win. the way i see it, if i was in this position where i could tie, i just play to try and get one more snooker so there is no respot. i treat it as still needing a snooker. what do others think?

i agree but id rarther draw instead of goin for snookers..
pros go for the respot and not snookers so i would prefer respot

Was just adding them to show what the previous thoughts were.

Personally I think it is the best way to decide and would love to see it added

It is how you decide break off on carom. Each player has a shot to play the white ball off the bottom cushion and come back up the table and get it as close to the baulk cushion as possible. Whoever lands closest would win the chance to take the respot.

I think that for the first shot on the respot, you are not allowed to pot the black, which would make it a more even contest as you would have to try and play safe, which is a skill in its self.

Nah i am happy with respot i have lost about 10 games due to them going first but when i go first I get the win

I disagree with that, if you want to pot it then you should be allowed that's like restricting what you can do on a table.

Lag is perfect in my opinion.

So therefore put the person who has the lag at a disadvantage? Doesn't sound right to me...
