I'm planning to change the homepage for when you're logged in. Instead of the current home page it would show a page tailored to you.

Once you are logged in it would show things like:
- summary of unread private messages
- targets eg
-- "You need to play 6 games more in 8 Ball UK to lose newbie status"
-- "You are 14 wins short of 1000 in 8 Ball"
-- "You need to play straight pool and killer to feature in the overall tables"
- to do list
-- "You need to upload a picture for your profile"
-- "You haven't filled in your details"

Any ideas? Anyone prefer not to see this?

I think it's a good idea, but wouldn't it be better to put these things above the current home page instead of completely replacing it? I think that the current home page has some useful features it would be bad to lose.

Maybe it could also show the currently online friends?

To add to it though... how about having the ability to filter what you do and don't want to see?

I would personally like to be able to see recent posts in my most viewed forum sections...

Yeah i think it would be a good addition just I would like to see unread posts in my Favourite sections aswell would be a good idea

I won't know if I like the new idea until it's implemented, seems a good idea, but the look is what matters on a homepage.

What useful features do you mean? The amount of players currently online could still be shown.

That and the "how do i take a shot" instructions, that should stay for the newbies IMO

I mean especially the "How do I take a shot?" box, but also the 2 very visible links to start the game. Not that I'm saying a common user won't find its way to the "Enter Game" link from the menu, but because it's the site's main functionality, the visibility and accessibility of the big links can only be good for the navigability.

...and if this wish is followed, could I again ask to make these "big links" open the game with the practice table set to the right game?

What about a link to contact us, just a little one in top right and corner, I think it should be there, even if the homepage doesn't change.
