you get a choice like when someone fouls..
say someone hasnt responded in time and therefore the randomshot time limit takes place, the person should get a choice where either the random shot takes place or you carry on from where the white lies along with a 4 point penalty..

All points made make sense, but im going to have to disagree with you mike (the_kop). Like every one has been saying, its a random shot. You can't turn around and say it aint gave you the advantage because it has every one.

ive noticed that when the random shot foul takes place.. it always goes in your favour.. it dosent seem to pot a ball..for example if your shotting a red.. the random shot hits colour.. ive even had the white go into the pocket. so either way i reckon that the random shot works for you anyway! but just my opinion
