Will there ever be a trail killer tournament as I noticed for the a trail for carom I always think killer is more played so you will a high volume of people in it!

has been discussed befor and the only problem that was braught up was the fact of trying to sort the games into rounds because killer games take alot of time to finish and would clash with other tournaments..

If it clashes with other tournaments then don't enter! your either a snooker person or a killer! Killer is meant to be a long timing game if you dont like it then you dont enter!

That's where the other problem comes from. The majority would choose playing snooker rather than killer. And you can tell that by how many games are going on at once.

Most ive seen recently for killer is 3, while both arcade and orig get way more than that.

Yes you could say the same for carom but thats less time wasting and only takes a long as a normal tourny.

But you all got to remember is like drunk_mate says if you want to win the killer tourny enter it if you want to win the snooker tourny enter that nobody is making you enter both, the amount of time I have not enterd a tourny becuase I was playing killer is alot so that just shows which 1 I would prefer to enter at the time?

And also its not about 100 people not entering due to playing snooker its about the possible 20+ people that enter it!

If nobody enters the trial tourny then final never make 1 but if we do get enough people then let it just flow what the point in having tournys for Carom/Arcade/Orig when killer is played alot aswell! Instead of just improving the games that need help do something for the games that people play!

Also damee you say the most killer in 1 time is 3, but nearly every day I enter 2/3, 10 man killers so theres 10 people without a blink of the eye!

I think that there's an important technical difference in organizing killer tournaments, as killer games are not 1vs1, unlike all the other games.

Therefore introducing killer tournaments would obviously require much more coding and testing than introducing carom tournaments did.

Also we would need to decide in which format they would work after all. 3 man games? 10 man games? So, much more discussions as well.


Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely not opposed to killer tournaments. I'm just explaining why it's not as easy to introduce as it could look like at first, so we can avoid people wondering why carom has tournaments and killer hasn't.

I'd say the rounds would have to be a 3 men so then you have a more chance of going through (winner goes through) takes less time for a round to complete eh?

But on the contray, you could also say that 10 man games gets rid of more people at once. Its a difficult one.

I'm always in a 10 men killer game with ace! believe that took just under an hour to finished luckily i won

But what wrong with trying it eh?

Im not saying there is nothing wrong with a try, its just the fact of getting everything right first, as there is a couple of problems.

how about 2 lives instead of three

Alot of things need to be resolved. Say if 17 people join the tourny. How do you break them up?
A group of 9 and a group of 8? How many go through to the final? Does the semi stop when 3 people are left?

So many questions and so many combinations/permutations.

Well in all the other tournaments, players go through on byes, so killer tournaments would just be like that surely?

It should be groups of even numbers, 4 is probably best.


if 30 people join the tournament, and it was groups of 4, then that would mean 7 groups of 4 and then 2 people going through on a bye.

OR

Maybe a formula where if 17 people do join, then it would find the nearest solution to sets of 4s. so it would be 4, 4's and 1 group of 5.

All im asking if a trail is to go ahead if it doesnt work nick will see where its gone wrong and improve that problem, The problem isnt going to occur if you dont try it at least!

Just remind me, why can't it be like a normal tournament. Mono e mono, one on one!

Normal time limit, lets say 2 lives and if you don't win tough. The whole object of the game is to make your opponent lose lives, if anything it will improve that aspect of killer.

Like that solution mike but then its not quite the same game though is it? Apart from that can't think of anything better

Can you put a timelimit on killer btw? Cos if you could, it would be a bit ironic wouldn't it?
