Well from seeing him week in week out, I can say he's consistently just about as good as he was against Liverpool in every game, just he was never given so much to do before...
You can not go by Andy Gray on who the best 'keeper is, for a start he hates Newcastle along with a few other clubs, so he's never going to mention our keeper up there. I'm sure if you stuck Ronaldo in goal he would rate him as the best as well

Everyone had forgot about Given as well before his display against Liverpool, on the last words a few weeks ago Andy Grey asked who was asked "whos the best in the prem: Reina or Friedal?" no mention of given at all.
This is making me sound like I think Given is crap, he is easily in the top 5.

Theres nobody Andy Grey hates more than Liverpool, I have read both Gerrards and Carras book and both of them speak about the bitter blues views on Liverpool. (all everton fans seem to have this complex of liverpool - maybe cos opposition fans are always rubbing it in their faces about being the poor team on merseyside)
If anybody has ever seen Andy Gray play, then you would know he was a big great lump of a striker playing in the dark days of football, and all that happened was whichever team he played in the ball would be hoofed to him. Yet the say he speaks you would think he was a footballing genious. The only teams he likes are Arsenal, Everton (very much so), Vill (same) chelsea and united.
He picked Friedal over Reina BTW

£6m they reckon, I think thats a bit cheap - mainly on the grounds that city pay double price for all players.
The geordies are being strangly rational abou the move although on 606 on bbc sport, some are saying that Harper is better anyway...

Harper isn't better, but he would start for most Premier League teams and would be in the England team as well if he had been a starter.
If we only got £6 Million I will be annoyed though, especially with Man City paying double as you said! I'm hoping it's not us who've kept the fee undisclosed, in which case it will be them trying to hide it from us!
But as I've said, Given deserves better than us, so no grudge can be held. Shame it happened so late though, with so little time to use the money...
