Right, by box is in the conservatory (so I can play on it without getting in everybody elses way) but my router is in the front room.
That means I cannot possibly plug it from the router into my box.
Now I have heard about this xbox 360 wireless network adapter thingy, but at £60 I am begrudged to pay for that. When I set my Wii up to the internet, it took my about 5 mins, and didn't require any such cable. Surely there is another way???
It is turning out to be as expensive as the ps3, but I was used to the playstation controller.
Not too happy, and i'm considering sending it back.

I am on wireless on my computer. But to far to plug router directly into the Xbox and I don't think other than paying for the xbox 360 wireless network adapter which is around 60 quid.

Going for the big fat, long cable approach, drill a few holes here and there and it will look brilliant....................................... well not quite... but it's a cheaper alternative, thieving swines!

It should be FREE it should come with it in the machine, it is pretty poor from such a modern, hi res machine to not have ireless inbuilt, the PS3, wii and even DS have it, and from a microsoft product it is slightly ironic.

.... or do that
Was hoping for a solution which wouldn't make the house look a tip. Tis really poor that it doesn't come with the box. Not impressed.

They could have just included a much longer wire. Bloomin' thing is tiny. I'm in the same situation Mike, i want to join Xbox Live but i'm not convinced it is worth the £60 yet.

£60 in a credit crunch they are having a giraffe.
What I am in the process of doing is buying an ethernet cable which is 10 metres long, drilling a few holes here and there then plugging it straight from the router into the Xbox. I've sent away for it, it should be here by Tuesday.
I have read some reviews for this 60 quid thing, and people have complained of lag, connectivity issues and poor value for money, then saying that a network (ethernet) cable works better and is better value for money, that convinced me to go for that option, cable was like £8 including P and P

Phil (lfc_lad) had the same problem when he relocated his XBox upstairs to his room at the top of the house. 30m (more than enough) of cable only cost about £15 and job done....almost... had to spend another £10-£15 or so for trunking to make it look neat (cable dangling from the ceiling in the lounge). If we could have got an adapter from Game for about £34 it would have saved a lot of time and effort. As you only want a short run (on the same level) a 10m cable will only cost you about a fiver and I'm sure that it will be easy to make it look neat and tidy (and be more reliable).
