Does anyone else think this stat is a bit pointless?

No, but its nice to know aswell how many you have had, ive had too many

I think as damee said it's there for your benefit not others. Just let's you know how many times your internets gone down for example.

Your internet going down isn't always the reason you abandon a game

I could be wrong but I thought it was brought in before the game was capable of continuing breaks. Therefore people could see if their opponent was a serial abandoner.

I dont see any real harm in leaving it there.

That's correct, it was brought in for that reason, as originally the game and break was cancelled when opponent left.

However staying till the end is a good indicator of whether you're a good opponent. High abandoned games is caused by poor sportsmanship, apathy, or poor internet connection.

I have 144 abandoned games. Around 140 are from losing connection . Why does this have to be added? Is there a way to tell if a player has lost connection or just purposely left a game, because that stat on my profile makes me look bad.

If you mean nobody looks at abandoned games on a profile then why have it?

My point exactly. There's no harm it being there but there's so many different stats on profiles nowadays that I think only relevant stats should be incorporated into it.

I like having the abandoned games there for the same reason that Nick said it's still there- to show who are the bad sports on here. Yes for some people a majority of their abandoned games will be from disconnection (I think around 20 of my 23 are from my internet going down), but in most cases it simply shows which players simply have bad sportsmanship.

most of mine has come from losing internet connection and having to go offline during a game (e.g tea or shop)

exactly thats what most peoples are but sometimes it just points out that some people are sore losers

i have 15% abandons which is shocking and out of those 65 id say 15 were connection and 50 pure anger lol

All of mine are from connectivity problems, most people will tell you my connection is shocking.
