Getting it on the next page just to provoke Ste to moan at me

Lescott new what he was doing, our defenders however didn't. Great flick from nando and a bit of poor keeping and its 1-1, how we didn't win the game i'll never know, created chance after chance, and as for some incredible result from Everton, I think that is a sign of how dominant we are.
Glad of the draw cos its another mersey derby to look forward to, we have been better away this season, so lets see what happens. Hope it goes all the way to pens
edit: for a workmanlike team, Everton have a right bunch of divers! Baines and that lump Anichibe in the first, pienaar twice in the second. Talk about desperate to get a set piece!

Can you blame us for playing for set pieces when we haven't got a single striker on the pitch?!!! We're divers??? Mascherano's dives made me sick! Then he waves his hand for a yellow card! Hate him for life now!
You didn't win that game because of Everton's brilliant defending and of course a bit of luck! Mike you're worst than my mates, you're so biased! We stopped you with half a team!

I'm not biassed at all. Masch dove a few times, twice i reckon - well went down easily - there was at least some contact. gerrard has been knows to do it as well.
You didn't have half a team, James Vaughn? Luis Saha? they make the bench. Arteta, Yakubu and Fellaini are regulars granted.
Every team has injuries, I don't feel for you We've just got our team back, and Agger is still out, our strength in depth is just superior to yours. No discussion.

Ahh wellll... Everyone knows these three games are just the build up for the real derby of the Premier League season... As on 1st February Newcastle meet Sunderland.
Okay so maybe I built that up a bit much, and no it wont get its own thread either, partially because Lyle and myself are the only people stupid enough to keep reminding people who we support so it would just be a two way thread just about
I actually am not looking forward to the derby, and that shows how little confidence I have in Newcastle at the moment

Yup.
But the difference in class shows over the period of a season, a decade, a lifetime, not over 3 games
Then the 70 million pound seems money well spent
Edit: Shankly made a team for about 200k and made us the most succesful team in the world, in todays money that doesn't come up to 24mill

Also, looking at the team, there is probably only dosseina and Babbel who we probably wouldn't sell at a profit, rumour is Juve want Kuyt for £30M
I think we should gift wrap him

Here is what i think we could get for the lot - realistically
Reina £6m (ish) sell for 15million
Arbeloa £3m (ish) sell for 5 million
Carragher £0 sell for 8 million (but he is priceless)
Skrtel £6.5m (ish) sell for 8 million
Dossena £7m (ish) sell for 6 million
Babel £11.5m (ish) sell for 11 million
Mascherano £18.6m (ish) sell for 20 million
Alonso £10.5m (ish) sell for 14 million
Gerrard £0 sell for 30 million (again priceless)
Kuyt £10m (ish) wuldn't give you half of that, but Juve could offer around 30 million
Torres £20-25m (ish) sell for 60 million - easy.
So now Rafa looks to have bought well.
cost 93-98 million
sale price 219 million
profit = £126 million
Evertons team:
Howard £3m (ish) sell for 4.5 million
Hibbert £0 half sell for half a million
Jagielka £4m sell for 12 million
Lescott £5m (ish) sell for 10 million
Baines £5m (ish) break even
Pienaar £2m sell for 3.5 million
Neville £3.5m (ish) 1 million
Castillo loan - cant sell.
Osman £0 sell for 2.5 million
Anichebe £0 sell for 1.5 million
Cahill £1.5m (ish) sell for 10 million.
Cost £24M
sale price £45.5M
profit £21.5M
Rafa dominates moyes and spends has nothing to do with it the profits do

Biassed!!
I've put carra, gerrard and torres low, they would be sold for more than that.
Am just right, the stats don't lie.
And neither do the trophy cabinets and the premier league table.
You say am biassed, but never say why.

Liverpool have had a bid off city for torres which was in the region of 60 million, juve will offer at least 20 mill for Kuyt cos they want a repacement for Nedved. Gerrard is worth more than 25 mill. he is the best midfielder in the prem after all.
On a lighter note, Moyesy reckons Piennar should have got a pen, as he had his ankles clipped.
Lmao.
Rafa reckons that he has never put 10 en behind the ball since he was in charge of non-leaguers
But yeah torres at 40 mill and hibbert at 2 mill, your having a bubble.
Anyways, even on your biassed team, we still are making more money. But it is a pointless debate, Rafa is going to be better than Moyes, Rafa has won 2 titles a uefa cup and a champions league, Moysey laa is yet to win anything.

The papers say City put a bid of 60 million but that was never confirmed by skysports!
So if you're running with the ball and someone clips you're ankle and prevents you from attacking goal that isn't a foul?
No one will ever pay over 10 million pounds for kuyt ever again!
Yeah maybe 30 million is about right for Gerrard, i was thinking because of his age (28) teams wouldn't be prepared to pay that, but on second thought they would jump at it
And you're wrong it was Valencia he last put 10 players behind the ball.
