I copied that from pool, what are you're thoughts about playing for cash? It would be on a different server also (nothing to do with current tournaments!)?

Would anyone be interested in killer pool for money?
Amounts would be variable, but imagine a couple of pounds entry with the winner taking the pot.
It's just an idea at the moment, but I'm interested to know what people's thoughts are.

I love this idea, would make this site a lot more interesting, and finally you could get something back for the hours and effort you have put in over the years.

I'm loving this idea - as long as its properly regulated.

doubt it would work personally. wouldn't you have to be at least 18 to play it though? which would be unfair on some of us younguns who might not be allowed to use our skills to earn something, where us others could win a small bonus quite regulary.

I think it should just be for orig
Nah seriously, not really sure about it tbh. The only i think this would work best if it was on another site, and that it doesn't interfer with this site.

The pool thread suggests any games involving money will be run from a completely different site.

This site is becoming greedy for money now. I appreciate how good nick is for putting a lot of time and effort into this site. But money is ruining the site tbh, premium accounts, money tournaments...

That sort of comment isn't on. Nick isn't introducing features that can be paid for because he wants to make a profit for the website, but because he needs the money to keep this site going.
Without there being ways of Nick getting money from this there would be no funkysnooker. It's not a case of being greedy at all, it's a case of needing money for the upkeep and progression of the website.

I'm trying to say, I hope there won't be too many things that have to be paid for. It wouldn't be the same in my opinion.
I'm only having my say.

i have no problem with premium accounts, i have no problem with gambling (watch me get in debt the day after i turn 18) but there are increasing numbers of young people on the site, including myself, who would jump at the chance to earn a small bonus aswell as having a laugh.
Unfortunately, if it does classify as gambling we can't participate as we aren't legally allowed to gamble.
On another hand, if things turn serious like the are two people left contesting a final with the winner taking something around £20 and the loser taking nothing, i think things could turn nasty with threatening and offensive langauge.
Unless you could have enough money genrated from entries that a winner could take £20 and the runner up taking £10 for their efforts.
Finally, if Nick is introducing these, wouldn't he need to make a bit of money from enrties for the upkeep of the site. So that if £40 was generated in entry fees, winner taking £20, runner up taking £10 leaving the final £10 to Nick for which he could use to keep the site functioning well.
It would seem pointless if Nick wasn't taking any money from these in my opinion.
Thoughts......

How many things have to be paid for? As far as I know, premium accounts are optional - if you don't want one, don't pay.
And obviously, Killer Cash would be optional - if you don't want to pay, don't.
And as for my thoughts on the idea - I'm with the people that say it has to be on a different site. How would it be regulated though? Age restrictions and so on..
Good point. How about Nick takes one tenth of what a person enters. For example, if 3 people entered a game and paid ten pounds each, Nick would take 3 pound. Obviously, the amount wagered will change, therefore the amount Nick receives will also change. I believe this would be the best way to do it.

I doubt there would be much interest in this as a large percentage of users would not be allowed to take part or would not want to take part, for example-
under 18 users
users without a credit card
users without paypal
U.S users(illegal to use gambling sites)
users who are totally against this idea

Lets get a few things ironed out before things spin off :
As posted on pool, if implimented, this would be a completely seperate server and not integrated with the current sites.
The word "gambling" naturally appears when this topic comes up, however do remember the subtle difference here. Gambling is a matter of pure chance, usually depending on an outcome out of your control, however this would be paid entry to a competition requiring your own skill (and thus legal under US rules - assuming a *very* quick google to be accurate! ).
At no point has Nick suggested the site would make any money off the game. Indeed, on pool, as above, its the users who are reccomending that he do so.
As for premium accounts, they are not there to make money, they provide an alternative to contributing to the site by viewing adverts. Indeed its not impossible the site could lose money if extremely heavy users were using premium instead of adverts.
