Anyone else had the problem where you are playing someone in a tourny and they leave inside the first 3 minutes - rather than getting the win, you are given a bye as if your opponent never turned up. Happened to me twice in each of my last two arcade tournies.

Wouldn't bother me but i lost a half cent in one match!

yes is annoying and do feel you should be allowed to finish your break rather than miss to avoid a bye

This used to annoy me so much, i remember lining up the final black for a 105 and it comes up i have a bye. We could do with this getting sorted.

Break play on functionality in tournaments is deliberately disabled in all cases.

If you're allowed to continue your break, theres a chance you may be disqualified. Removing the continue break option in tournaments removes this chance.

what about if you was on for a 147 and it gave you a BYE, you would be angry.

I thought that rule used to be in place but was changed to allow the break to finish - what happened for it to be changed back? If someone leaves in the first 3 minutes its unlikely you'll be disqualified.

Tinotoon, that was never the case in tournaments.

James, if thats the case, you miss and take the half or the cent.

Are you sure you're right? i play tournies regularly and have only had this problem in the last couple i have played - i've always been able to finish my breaks before.

Just to clarify... the continue break functionality has never been implemented in tournaments (for the reasons already stated).

You CAN carry on with a break when the opponent leaves, I have had it where the opponent leaves and I have carried on only to be interupted a good 4-5 minutes after they have left with the message of "None attendance" If nothing else, non attendance is an incorrect message.

"You are through on a bye due to you're opponent being a none attending publisher" something like that anyways!

It's cost me a good few centuries put it that way

I've just checked and currently break play on functionality may happen in some cases in tournament games at present. This is incorrect and will be completely disabled next patch.

There's other threads about whether break play on functionality should be allowed in tournaments or not eg here:

Wow on that thread spinner actually says "not sure on that one" to Mikes question, first time I've read a post of his what doesn't answer a question!

Nice one Nick.

I had a problem in original tournament.

During the tournament i played wrighty_93 and he clearly won so i flagged to concede but he left at the same time i flagged so it said we was still in a game.

and i couldnt leave so i had no choice but for a double DQ and log out so i wouldnt hold the tournie up.

any ideas?

Yeah, very rare this happens, nick already knows about it.

Ok so you can't continue your break but surely you should be credited with the break you have built so far. In one of mine i had made a half and my opponent left. The game was effectively cancelled and I was given a bye.
