I thought this might be a good idea basically just state which players you think are overrated and which are underrated and give reason for your choices

here are mine :-

Underrated

Yossi Benayoun (works hard for liverpool when he gets a game and puts in some good performances,
Tony Hibbert (Defensively Tony Hibbert is a great player, he is offen judged on his distribution which to be fair isnt the best but he is a good defender,
Phill Neville (Like Benayoun for liverpool, Neville gives 100% every game and really fights for the blue shirt),
Ricardo Carvalho(I think carvalho seems to be forever in John Terrys shadow, dont get me wrong JT is a great player but i think Carvalho deserves so much more credit than he gets.

Overrated

Wilson Palacios (I personally think he is a complete waste of money and i have never saw what other people see in him),
Wes Brown (How Wes Brown constantly gets a place in the England and Man utd teams is beyond me, there are far better defenders out there IMO)

To be honest, i could agree with all of that but Palacios could be one for the future. Do think he should have stayed at Wigan for little longer though.

For the money they get paid, all of them are overrated.

Overrated

Rooney (gets all the right press when he has at most an average game!)

Terry (would rather have skrtel and jagielka in my team atm, ever since his injury in the carling cup I think it was might have been FA cup where he was kicked in the head, he seems to go into challenges half heartedly)

Adbeyour (I think he's just as bad as crouch! such a cluts)

Underrated

Tevez Unbelievably good and runs his heart out! Just outshone by berbs atm!

Skrtel Such a classic old school defender! must be good to keep Agger out of the squad!

Paul Robinson Still an awesome keeper imo but has now gone out the picture playing for a smaller club now

Adebayour overrated? Hmm, considering how many goals he scored last year, it takes a brave man to make that comment.

Overrated

Rooney - goal scoring record is shocking.
Palacios
Valencia
Cahill - cracking player, but the way the press have been talking about him lately....
Heskey - always gets called underrated, so he is overrated

Terry
Cech - recently shocking
Carson
Lucas - young brazillian player of the year 2008... enough said
Bellamy
Lennon
Downing!!!
Berbatov - especially on fifa



Underrated

Skrtl
Crouch - what a legend shh mike, the things that guy can do...

Over rated

Robiniho - Hes a decent player but the man city fans I no think hes like god (a few goals here and there doesnt make you the best)

Gerrard - He gets a scorcher goal now and again but I think there are better midfielders out there I don't think hes doing much tbh

Geovani - He is great player

Crouch - Since he first came on the seen I have liked this guy he doesnt do much but hes always putting 100% effort in the game

Time Howard - Cracking keeper never being really noticed but I think hes top draw

Figuroea (bad spelling but the one who plays for Wigan lol)
Titus Bramble (come on he isnt as bad as everyone makes out and offen has a good game)

And Tim Howard was a great shout Si!

Over rated

Robinho, watched him a few times, nothing special.
Teves, other than his work rate i don't like him.
Rio, he annoys me, don't like him at all!
Newcastle football club, why are they with us. Get away!

Under rated

Arteta, the way he's been playing lately he's looking like a 40 million pound player! He doesn't get as much as the credit he deserves!


Thats all

Thats ridcuous. Watch Liverpool week in week out, he is the most inspirational player in the premiership. No one player can raise a team the way Gerrard raises Liverpool. He scores scorchers as you say, but he is creative and never shy of a tackle. England would be well advised to forget lampard, and play Gerrard with a free role in behind Rooney.

Liverpool would be lost without Gerrard and too be fair he is an amazing player i still say his goal against west ham in the fa cup final is still one of the best i have ever seen but although he does score aload of screamers he also makes goals and he is the heart and soul of liverpool fc.

So happy he is in the squad for Madrid game, just hope he manages to get on the bench at least.

I would say Gerrard is underrated in the world scene, probably because he hasn't moved around from club to club attracting big fees.

I just dont think hes nuthing special.... People like different players he is good at football but nuthing special in my eyes

SOmebody who doesnt need a glass to fight with to start somebody who doesnt preech good behaviour then do the oposite

But on the football pitch somebody who doesnt cheat hes always the first player fall when he gets touched and I don't care what you think he always falls

So does Ronaldo.

He does occasionally go down, I admit, but not as often as people make out, i remember 3 times he has done it.

Still doesn't make him overated, nor does his fighting techniques It seems he wasn't the one who hit he guy, but apparently he was egging his mate on...

He is still the model professional though

Wow, I never knew being unable to hold a two goal lead or playing 10 men for over a half and still not winning against a team pretty much in turmoil (Especially when we were at Goodison) would make people like that.

The only thing I came out from yesterday was that there is only one major club in Liverpool. I know after seeing the FA Cup game I said the gulf wasn't that big, but after seeing them both play live, there really is.



He had a decent game yesterday, but that's the first time for a long time, the rest he's crap.

At the back was pretty strong we just missed Hibbert hence the clean sheet!

In the middle we had our best player at the club current and for the last 20 years stretchered off! That certainly effected the players, fans and manager! We we're missing Cahill, a player who can.. do i need to say more?

Osman, Pinnaar, Yakubu regular 20 goals a season striker! Vaughan, Victor got substituted because one of your players lunged in with a reckless challenge! The list goes on! Newcastle looked like a league two side to be honest before and after the red card! With our full team am thinking of a cricket score. You just got lucky i guess and the story of our season we got unlucky!
