Lol a bit random

If you get them from a fairground - usually about 10 mins

But if you really want a serious answer....

*does a simple wikipedia lookup that any fool could do*

"In optimal conditions, goldfish may live more than 20 years, but most household goldfish generally live only six to eight years, due to being kept in bowls. The oldest recorded goldfish lived to 49 years."

Well we bought 2 goldfish for my brother at xmas in 2006, when we went on holiday last year, we had this feeding thing which was meant to feed them gradually over the 2 week period... It didn't it failed, so when we got back there was just one goldfish left, the smallest of the two - the female, was no more - it had been eaten ...

The big one is still going though

We won a goldfish at a fairground when i was about 4 or 5 years old. Plus it only had one eye so my parents thought it would proberbly die next day.

It is still alive now in a small square tank in my dining room on it's own. And now i'm 20 so it's at least 15 or 16 years old now and it's been in the same tank it's whole life.

The key is not too overfeed them and to keep them on there own or in small numbers.

I eventually called my goldfish Fred West because he killed every single fish we tried to put in with him.
