I was about to log in onto funkysnooker where in the chat panel it said:

"apologies the maximum number of players accepted by the server has been reached"

No exact number of players online ie 400 which I would of presumed was the cap or that anyone else was affected as many were online.

Not happened before I logged straight back in after not really an issue maybe a very slight inconvenience.

Intrigued to know what it was or if anyone else had the same problem though.

I may be wrong but the number of members online might not correspond to the no. of players (including guests) that are connected to the game server. Nick would be the one to clarify I guess.

Wow. Well, I can confirm the obvious, that the server limit was reached. And yes, it applies only to the game server, not the website.

A good sign, as it shows how the site is growing

Guests are blocked at 300, members at 310. So all priority is on members - hence very few guests on now!

I'm annoyed I didn't see this yesterday - we could have destroyed the maximum player online record had I investigated and modified the limits.

Put it up to 500, bet it won't be long before that is breached

Whats the maximum it can be set to before its too much for the server to handle?

No, as no guest at all can get online once it's full - so the guest feature is basically shut down. Earlier the guest chat room only had a single guest online.

I'm unsure of the exact server limits and have erred the value lower to be safe - next step will be an additional 50 - but things should calm down now the snooker tournament has finished!

Now that we have premium members and "if" there was a rise in people buying a premium membership. Would you consider making the limit more or keeping to your original plans?

I've now upped this to 340.



I intend to keep raising the limit to cope with the number of users but I want to ensure stability, too.

Yesterday (and most of this year) has been 50% on last year, it's a peak due to the championship but it also the number of users is growing.

Additionally, last week has been the first time that funkysnooker has eclipsed funkypool in total users!
