Just a tip question really,

Do you try and go into the reds while potting a red or while potting a colour?

Do you aim for certain parts of the pack or just smack into them and hope your luck is in?

Just wondering, as i was taking a shot on the blue to middle but there was a loose red if i screw back. and i could of gone into the pack (but would of been a harder shot) off that red. I chose to go into the pack off the blue, thinking if i get on a red from going into them then i'll be nicely set up to continue break. Unfortunately i didnt get onto a red. and it was end of break.

I mainly try and go into them off a colour because more chance of getting onto next ball and not snookering yourself.

Well when I play orig mainly it depends how the balls are situated if I can come of the black into the bottom of the pack then I will do that definatly, if not then try leave myself on the blue and cannon into the pink hopefully leaving the reds on, See you can play for the loose red but you need to think if you pot the red will you leave yourself the angle you need of the colour to open them up, so get them spread out as soon as you can so you can maximise your break.

In real life snooker, the idea is only go into the pack off a colour.

In funky (arcade), I believe going into the pack off a red or colour is fine because it's much easier to pot the baulk colours from the black end anyway.

Personally, I think using a red to break the pack is better in case you pot a second red in the process.

If you have a angle on the blue and smack into the pack by hittig the pink 95% of the time a red will go in which will result in a foul ;).

That doesnt happen to me much. Depends on how the reds are.... i usually go into them from the blue. You dont always need full power. As i find the white stays in the middle of the table, if i have a decent angle on the black( hitting top cushion first before pack) then i try and clip the corner of the pack with quite a lot of power.

Its one of those, depends on the situation of the balls.

if u can smash into the pack when potting a red it is always best to do this if u are certain of gettin position on a colour ie one over the pocket.

reason for this is that in fs you all know as soon as u smash the reds, because of the "bucket" pockets one is likely to go on.

because of this if u open them while on a colour and one goes in then it is a foul.

if you dont - its not

i like to smash the pack early from a red if possible otherwise i would go into them from the black with a touch of top and right/left spin depending on side of black, dont like to go into them from blue since they dont split well.

I thought this would be more game shots or gen chat, but anyway...

On original, when the reds are in a pack, i tend to land low on the black, and put a tiny bit of screw on. Over the last 2 weeks, ive played that shot so many times and only once it hasn't landed me on an easy red (and generally very easy position for the black).

the best tip is to go into the pack as early as you can if you have an angle to go into them break them up coz you will always regret it if u ent got a red to play for.
