I was thinking about introducing a feature like a player can assign a ball he wants to pot an hole where to pot and if succeeds get some extra points for this and if not some penalties.
So we can eliminate some flukes and appreciate some "real" skilled players

Its more of a pool rule than a snooker rule mate.

Dont see this happening am afraid.

Yeah, this is more of a pool-based game. Although, I would advise you to go straight to FunkyPool and shoot this idea straight to the Forums, I think this is a great idea mate.
I love it!

I definately think there should be a nominated ball when you've snookered yourself.

There have been calls for having to nominate a colour after you've potted a red, not for extra shots, but because that's part of the official rules (I think).

Was a litte while ago from what I remember though, can't remember what the reactions were like.

Edit- Here's one of the threads:

Whats the point in that, when do you ever pot a colour when you dont mean to?... Unless resulting in a foul

It's for the cases where a player is snookered as well, sometimes a player may just hit and hope, if they have to call a ball, it will be more skillful in getting it done right.

but if your snookered then your not off for a colour are you, and if youve snookered yourself off a red...

No, if your snookered on all colours, and nominate black to go for and hit the pink, its a foul. While if you don't nominate it wouldn't be a foul.

people only wont want it because they know they wont be able to do it ;)

i think it should be introduced to the game, should make it a lot better.

This rule should be applied only at arcade where the table smaller and probability of accidenatl pot is higher. A lot of nnewbies or adepts are using "hit and hope" and percantage of succes is rather high.

Why? Original is considered to be the most realistic game, so surely if it's only going on one it should go on that...

No point in this. If you hit a colour and you flukely pot it, nominating that colour isn't going to prevent this. The rule... "If you hit a colour and a different colour goes in a foul is called" also makes nominating a colour useless.
Unless your talking about reds, and if you are then introducing this rule would be very unrealistic. (Even if it is called "FUNKYsnooker")

As already mentioned flukey, it's not only being lucky in potting, but also gettin out of snookers. You could just hit off a cusion hoping it hits a colour and get out of the snooker without meaning to hit the ball you did.

IMO I don't see any barriers in introducing this rule into FUNKYsnooker.
Unless nick is busy to improve any other thing which are not good. (i.e: Errors, bugs, etc.). This could help to improve skills in playing. At least to see what you want to hit and what happen after the shot.
In this manner we can come to next topic but probably it was already discussed "replay shot in practice mode" (i don't know - without possibility of search could not be sure ). But this is other thread.
So as any other ideas this has its pros and contras but overall seem to be useful. Need a "Professional" approval and putting in "waiting" list
