I would like this option implemented if possible. I am sick of people saying gg or wp gl in the rest, blah blah before a game is over. So I think I have the solution, at the moment you can shrink the chat at the bottom, so why not have the option to block it out completly whilst playing?
You can put it back in when playing freinds etc, but then at the 1st sign of someone being a bit of a you know what you can block it out.
Any Thoughts......

Good idea. Sounds stupid but im a strong believer in all this jinxing stuff. It really does work.
So yer, somehow block the chat whilst playing if you want.

the easiest way to do this is to ignore that person. if someone blocks the chat, how can people talk to you or give you important information (example clan, clan games etc).

its really silly but if your on a break, it just takes your mind off it long enough to stop your flow, and this problem has been around for a long time, and this seems like a simple solution to it.

Idea for you mate.
It may seem a bit ignorant.
But get something that will show on top of all windows... For example. Use magnifier. It will show on top of any windows. You can resize it to cover the chat are if you wish. Dont have to use magnifier, Im sure there are other things to use.
To get to magnifier. Go to start, Programs>Accessories>Accessibility
Its meant to be a community, Chatting is part of the game IMO. Plus just think of all the join tournament alerts you will miss, as well as opponent thinking you are a ignorant pig
Actually saying that, If you hover the mouse over the chat area (covered by magnifier) you will be able to see whats being said.

In which case ignore user is the best solution - you can always turn it off again at the end of the game and you won't miss anything else that might be important.

Yep sure does - of course you won't be able to look back at the end of the game to see what they had been saying but nothing is perfect

yes it does, ignore stops communication altogether with the ignorer by message, pm or chat

When a somebody get vulgar I ask him to stop if not just send a complain. And after this add him to ignore list. It is a good practice. I wonder how many complains has to be accumalated and if there exist any policy about it?

Each case is taken on its own merits as the degree of abusive behaviour must be taken into account.
The idea of "muting" chat, except for game announcements etc has been mentioned a few time and I think it would be a good option.
Slightly off topic, but coming from the previous post, how about automatically putting someone on ignore after sending a complaint?
Many users aren't aware of what the ignore option does, and that way after a complaint is sent they would not be exposed to any further bad language from that person.

I like the idea, but i'm nosey and like to see what they are actually saying Maybe have it as a popup to come up after complaint sent. Asking if you would like to ignore this user.

So a someone has to analyze and take decision about every complain? Sound as not a very efficient system. But if time of response is acceptable it is ok. I never get back result from my complains.
So how should i know if the system does works?

You don't get any feedback from complaints sent because the matter is between the site and the accused member.
Except, of course, to notice when people are banned etc.
The system is actually very effecient and individually analysing each complaint is vital, as in at least 25% of cases, (almost certainly more, but I haven't done a detailed check!) the complaints are false, or indeed show the reverse.

I don't think it makes any difference to the result what so ever
If somebody says gg or hello they both apear so both could be off putting? I no its all about game ethics andood sportsmanship but honestly it makes no difference
If I miss black off spot thats myfault andhas nuthing to do with what you are saying in the game

i agree with si, if that puts you off then maybe you need to practise more.. or put some paper over the bottom of the screen during the game ?
