i think there should be an option to reset individual game stats. for example if someone wants to reset only regular, carom or any he should be able to do it .

Seems like a bad idea.
Resetting stats shouldnt be used for an advantage to gain better stats in my opinion.

Indeed - why?
So that you can keep resetting the lowest until you get to the rank that suits you everywhere?
It seems fairer to have to play to get the rank, including bad runs where you may lose lots of points. Don't like this idea, sorry.

fair enough ...
Just a suggestion .. !!!!
and I think i agree ...
its easy to gain ranking when you are a newbie and i lost my newbie status playing tourny games and never had a chance to improve my ranking quickly then ..
rankings are suppose to judge the players game and if you are not a newbie and never played a ranked game then you ranking doesnt reflect your game ....
I think its a good IDEA !!!
people are getting to professional in 30 to 40 games when they reset there rankings... but problem is tourny wins go away too ...
anyway
i wud say its not a bad idea

This is sooo much not a good idea (IMO)
The reason for resetting being introduced was to reduce the number of people deleting accounts and creating new ones all the time (because it made the forums messy I think).
Whilst I see that people might like to have 'pretty stats' like, for instance, 100% win record or Pro Rank in every game type, it would immediately make the overall statistics meaningless and give a false impression of the player's actual ability.
I must admit that I'm biased, having never been a fan of resetting or deactivating to create a new user (unless there is a good reason for it), but even so surely you can see that it makes a mockery of the ranking tables.
At the end of the day, if you want to reset your stats - fine - but a least be prepared to take the full consequences of your actions.

If you reset your stats you have to take the consiquence of resetting the full lot

I must say that I have to agree slightly with both views
When a player turns from amateur to pro etc etc in real life they dont carry with them any rankings from their amateur days.
I think that players shouldn't be able to reset their stats manually.
If I am right in thinking, most players would do it to help their win loss ratio.
If thats the case (and there is a strong argument for it), why not automatically reset someones win/loss ratio when they turn pro (just like real life).
This way, they keep their ranking - so other players can see it - there is no "newbie" beside their names - and they can start afresh with their win loss ratio.
Obviously, this only happens once, so if you do go back to adept its your own fault as you have already been pro!!!!.
In its current state - why not replace "Newbie" with "Reset" - and save the players previous ranking so others can see what they are up against.
I am not a computer whizz but surely this wouldnt be difficult.......
Also, on another note, to stop so many de-activating - why not let them change their alias???
Cheers

I personally agree with the individual stats.
I have played a few carom games with people who sad they would teach me how to play, then, not to put too fine a point on it, completely betrayed their earlier "intentions"
As a result my carom scores are unrepresentative of my other scores. Therefore they would be the ones getting deleted.
I wholeheartedly agree with the idea

Exactly as Dave has said above. The reason Nick has made the reset ranking option is to stop everyone deleting there account after a bad day. (you all know what i mean, you lose a few games and think it's the end of the world) So it stops there being loads of deleted users and a load of new names being made up.
All i can say is, if you dont like your stats for a certain game type. Practice is the key to everything.
And i'd also like to point out, i have never reset or even deactivated. One of a few.

Thats a load of rubbish.
When your a newbie, only your opponents rank scores are affected, unless they are a newbie themselves and the newbie modification has no effect.
You only must be experiencing the problem of getting rank up easier because your higher than before.
So what you said about newbies get rank easier, they only get it easier because they are lower.
Anyway, i am all against this idea. Yes we can't be happy with every stat we have, get over it. If you want to get it better, then play more games, you can always improve them by doing that.

I see this idea pointless myself.
Just my opinion though.

bad idea because people will just keep resetting 1 game because their rank is low. If you reset you take the responsability for the full lot.
I have never reset or deactivated because even though i have 1000 more losses than wins in arcade (all coming from top players), i like my stats since i have 7 arcade cents and numerous halfs as well
