The most successful, as mentioned on the other thread, is Steve Davis, but a personal view of who's the al time best is a different thing altogether.

Personally, I'd say Alex Higgins. It's amazing how much effect he had in creating the televised game as we know it today.

That said, without an opponent like Davis, would we ever have seen how good he was?

So yeah, personally, Higgins. However, I would love to see the finish of a tournament featuring Higgins, Davis, Henry and O'Sullivan - with each player at the very top of their game. I think it could be anybodys..

I'm a huge fan of Hendry I think hes one of a kind,but if you look at it on a time like

80's was Davis
90's was Hendry
2k's is O'Sullivan

But yeah you look back at players like Alex Higgins and he was amazing and did alot for the sport

But my personal favourite would be Stephen Hendry just love his game love how he acts on and off the table and love his sportsmanship

the best players in the game atm is john higgins, ryan day, shaun murphy and neil robertson as far as consistentsy is concerned

u can argue that he wasnt great due to poor record in world championship finals
but some magical snooker to get to those finals

all time greatest player without a doubt is stephen hendry!!
during the 90s he never missed, my dad has seen him play at pontins when he was 16,17,18 and he played in the pontins pro but not the pontins amateur..
he walked through it , took the cheque and left

even when he comes on tv now i think of how amazing he is ,, still made a 147 at worlds aswell

Jamie Cope is a great snooker player he has got alot of talent to come out, just needs to concentrate abit more and he will be winning these world championships

Also we all no hes from Stoke and he used to play at my Pool club! Along with the pool greats such as: Lee Kendal, Gareth Potts and Liam White

i think the yuoung legend that was paul hunter should get a mention in this list even tho he wasnt on the circuit as long as the others

was and still is my favourite player
