I have a strong suggestion for the admins (and mods too.) I tend to keep posting threads that are related to others. I strongly recommend that there should be a reminder on top of the page where you select a thread or create a new thread.
It's up to the admins what they would put in the reminder.
If moderators agree with this please let me know. Thank-you!

A reminder for what?
Its up to you to search the forum for threads related to the one you're creating.

If you go to the trouble of making a new thread, it doesn't really take much more effort to have a quick scan of the forums first to check it hasn't already been discussed. This is made easy by the 'search forum' bar at the bottom of the relevant forum page.
Suppose a reminder wouldn't be too much effort to add in either but i'm not sure it's necessary.

to be honest i actually agree with mclarenguy since people rarely perform checks and are regularly reminded that they should have checked the forums.
however this reminder would probably blend into the backround after a while.... same way the health warnings on boxes of cigarettes were semi effective when first introduced but now are completely ignored.

his point is that this would remind other people to do a search before creating a thread....
which came about after he was told in a few different threads about searching

Do you mean, a reminder like this?
http://www.funkysnooker.com/viewTopic.do?topicid=3859
...which everyone is supposed to have read before posting anyway!

Okay we will do a vote.
Who thinks the reminder is necessary and how sure do you think it's necessary by percentage? Here's a couple of examples below. (The two examples are on their own, not together, so you only need to use Yes or No and then the percentage.)
e.g. Yes, %80 sure.
e.g. No, %70 sure.

Not needed. Is it that hard to do a search that takes less than half a minute? No!

No, %100.
I think it would be superfluous to add the same reminder at several places. The reminder is already included in the sticky "Forum Rules" thread, which everyone is supposed to read.
Spreading reminders throughout the whole site would only help making it messier.

You think it would be superfluous...that makes me convinced you're less than %100 sure to be honest.

No, he says THINK in caps to get the point across that there are already enough reminders in place and there are no more needed.
You've got the wrong impression from his post. I'm 100% sure and convinced of that!

Besides, I didn't know what 'sticky' threads mean until you said that.
