Simple suggestion here; as you may know, there is a swear filter, which censors any of the most offensive words.

I think there should be a caps filter too, which changes any sentences posted in all capitals into lower cases. That way, the site will remain peace and quiet permanently and will never be noisy again.

So - do you think it's necessary, or do you think it's unfair on Moderators? Please consider. Thanks!

unnecessary

Hardly ever see these all-caps posts and it makes posting seem too restricted.

I'm sure anyone with half a brain would post mainly lower-case.

Yeah i don't see the point, because firstly capitals at the start of a sentence...whats wrong with them? Also you can do 1 word all CAPS just to emphasise (or however that word is spelt) that part.

Just send a complaint if you see someone type all caps.

i've seen people using only CAPS until i ask them not to shout and they start typing in lowercase so no need for cap filter

Alot of people who are new to websites do not necessarily no that typing in all caps is classed as shouting so untill they are told to stop they don't no they are doing anything wrong.

Also like Damee said its nice to use caps at the beginning of a name sentance etc or if your playing snooker 'What a GREAT shot'

But it's not your job to tell them to lower case it, since you're not a Moderator. Plus. they might not follow your instruction. They might just think 'I don't care, even though it's worth a boot.'

So what if its not "his job"? Any help is good help. There aren't enough instances of this to warrant a whole filter.

Say if you said 'Yay, I have WON!' The word, 'One' would stay exactly as it is.

If you said 'YAY, I HAVE WON!' the sentence would be changed too 'Yay, I have won!' See what I mean?

Don't forget, I'm very strange here. Children like me find it difficult to get on with and try to be useful like posting needful threads etc., okay?

Of course, you can get booted for caps, but if there was an all caps filter, they would be less likely to get booted that way.

I doubt it's worth a boot unless they really have nothing better to do in their time. Plus, you don't have to be a moderator to tell people how to use manners. Members can offer advice, help out, remind of the rules etc so long as they don't 'impersonate' those of that particular moderator role. Moderators are here to take action on repeat offenders responsibly.

But as said before, anyone who uses all CAPS in every word is either 'not all there' or deliberatly disturbing/provoking those around them therefore deserving a boot (they will get warned beforehand anyway).

I notice the use of all CAPS happen more often in the game rather than the forum, but you can just send a complaint if the user carries on doing it.
