recently wen playing snooker or carom myself and friends have been coming up with some new ways to play.

has anyone else tried anything new.

we played winner stays on collating points as we went, we played first to 11 however we added a rule that a 50+ break is half a point and a 100+ was an extra point.

made practice alot more fun.

carom : 2 players

we played a match which was first to 30 points

we added points as we went,

all runs of 1 = 1point

all runs over 1 double points.

run of 2 = 4, run of 4 = 8 etc etc,


this was lots of fun, great way to improve your runs because within this game you are rewarded double for a run, i think i went 12 - 4 ahead and poopatroopa got a run of 4, so scored 8, making it 12-12 game on!!! lol

Although myself and suspiria never did this, we did discuss the possibility of playing a challenge and then being rewarded with 1 game ranked choice for winning,


so for example.

we play first to 9 friendly on original,

the winner then chooses a table of his choice to take 1 matched game from them, this i suppose you would have to play with a friend you could trust to pay up at the end.

would make friendly play lots of fun with a slight reward.

These are great ideas lee and definately make practise more fun.

I suppose if you lost on the last one you could accidently lose connection lol.

i know that there is possibly an issue with cheating on the last one, but a personal agreement over a set amount of frames to claim 1 frame in my mind would be perfectly acceptable.

Yes if tere is an agreement with 2 players then there shoud be no complaints.

i play alot of wso (winner stays on) really helps alot .sometimes when i am in 1 there could be 5 of us playin wso in the same room so 2 be playing and the other 3 be watching and chatting which is a great way of making friends

myself and suspiria have just started a race to 21points,


points are earnt,

1point for winning a frame

1point for every break of 10

an extra 3 points for a century

so a break of 110 would = 14points

a break of 72 = 7points



just another way to play with a friend to keep the games that little bit more interesting,

Yep, unfortunately we didn't have the time to finish this, next time we play first to 101 m8... Keeps frames interesting until last ball, even if you're guaranteed to lose the frame.

I like the idea very very much !

i would propose it to a game queries forum if there will be some to listen it.
