in a normal match on here, you could be stuck an inch or 2 behind a colour trying to get to a red and you are snookered. In normal life, some players may choose the option of the jump shot. Is there any way this could get implemented in to the game like having a button that elects to have the ball jumped over a ball to make the game more lifelike.....

i know there would have to be a limit on how far the jump can go so that people are not just jumping form 1 end of the orig table, snookered behind the green trying to hit any reds....

any ideas ?

In all seriousness it is illegal to play a jump shot in snooker, but maybe this is an idea for pool?

i would think the jump is similar to the swerve idea and impossible to implement with a 2D game engine

Yeh psycho, to play the jump shot it would have to be a 3d game, aswell as that, as pointed above, its a illegal shot.

a jump shot in snooker is a illegal shot only if(you jump over a ball to get to another 1)

but if the cue ball jumps when you dont mean it to it isnt a illegal shot! it becomes a illegal shot when the cueball jumps over a object ball and connects with anyother

but if you dont mean it your not playing it? so there for not a shot?

just to add another bit onto that.

if it jumps over the object ball and hits it on the other side then that is all so a illegal foul


anyhoo it wont get implemented because:
1. it isnt a rule in snooker
2. its hard to play safe as it is lol
3. alot of people wont agree with it

Not to mention, if you had full ball snooker on them, it would be pointless, at it would be so easy to jump the ball and pot.

It has nothing to do with intentional or not, if you unintentionally jump the ball and hit another, it is a foul. The ball can chip into the red your attending to play as long as it hits the nearest side of it.

Im sure pool could be updated to have a 3d option, and a 2d option, via the options in the game room.

But, the updates are always tried on pool before being brought over to snooker.
