Firstly, you have the option to ignore guests as you wish so unprovoked abuse isn't an issue. The 'ignore guests' option effects every guest on the site, not individuals. So we shall rule that out.

Secondly, if you want a friendly game with a member, than wait for one and join it. You may say that it's rare to find these games, that may be because not many members play friendlies. So by creating a 'members only' game, you could be waiting for ages. Your best bet is to ask around in the chat room.

Seems like a very minor problem to me. I have been out-played by guests and smashed a few in my time too. One even got a break of about 70 against me not long back. I quite like the fact you can play opponents without any knowledge of their skill, more exiting friendlies if you ask me.

EDIT: just looking at friendly games now, there are 23 games all owned by guests and 2 games owned by members (both carom). This is almost 7:30 on a sunday evening, i doubt you would have much of a better chance late at night using your example earlier

very true farren, earlier i played a guest and he hit 2 orig halfs against me in a row. thats the beauty of playing guests, you never know what to expect. there are some crap guests who you would beat with a blindfold, other guests is as good as top members which you have to be the top of your game to beat this guest.

you have abusive guests thats nothing new. if you do get abusive guests either ignore or wait until game is finished and leave.

i try and play as many guests as possible

fair play and i agree ive played guests and got battered but that was sahara in disguise, lol, so yea you dont know wat to get.

its a shame you cant create a friendly room and just wait for a member to join tho.

Like faz said you have the option to mute guests if abuse is the reason you don't like playing them, although having the option to only play members in friendlies couldn't hurt the site more than it already has been.

Do you have the option to mute members when playing them?

I get a fair bit of abuse from a few of the members on here for no reason.

Yep, just click "ignore" and they are muted.

However, if you are recieving abuse, please use the send complaint button also and they will be dealt with.

You can mute individual members via their PM chat window but if you get abuse you should send a complaint.

I only play friendlies in Arcade...same reason as IamGod...just playing for the break.
80% of my opponents are guests...every time a suprise who you play that time. It differs from someone playing his 1st game to the possible no1 ranked. Like that part of playing guests.
On the other hand...guests leave in general most of the games real early.
To be honest....in 95% of the games....there's no abuse; more then satisfied with that percentage...
I mentioned by the way that my rating is decreasing every day although i never play ranked games.
Decrease of .3 or so.

every day rank will reduce so members dont climb to the top and then stay there without playing.

also i agree its a higher % of good people, and the abuse thing wasnt the reason i wanted the option, it was more the fact like you said guests come and go,

i dont mind sitting and waiting for a member to be honest i think its a shame as a member we dont have the option,

but like the others said we do have the option but we have to search for the games and hope a member has a friendly open or just put up / shut up and play guests,
