I don't know about you but sometimes i like to play a few newbies after chatting in the chat room and then i get utterly smashed beyond belief and they then say that they had reset their accounts. I know its always nice to have a high percentage of wins but i somehow feel hard done by when i lose a lot of ranking points in the name of a nice couple of frames.

I know some people I've played pressed the reset option by accident so I'm not blaming any one but sometimes it would be nice to chart my progression (or theirs) from the start date by means of a graph or something like that to show if I am actually getting better and to gain a sense of achievement rather than wanting 100% that could never be obtained without having to reset and start over.

I'm not a programmer or anything like that and don't know if it would be worth it in the long run or to start it now without resetting everyone's account which defeats the whole purpose.

All I'm saying is that players can spend a lot of time on one account (I've only the one by the way) and from reading other forum posts some wish that they could hide or even cancel their individual stats for each game type.

The problem with this is that they could be on a completely different account altogether, and there is no definite way of knowing if it's the same user, so you can't track them.

Also, if losing rank is the problem, well that's where the newbie modification comes in so you lose a lot less than you would against a non-newbie.

But if there is some form of career option it could benefit people who want to improve over time and maybe deter people from wanting a max in their stats and let them concentrate on getting better in a progress chart as its a shame that the stats are a bit limited and it would give a bit more useful info for the player and opponents too. (ps, this is my first querie but thanks for all info)

I've always thought the "Previous" part of your stats should be permanent that way even when you reset you still see what the player has reached previously no matter the reset.

As for resetting I myself am a prime example of complete boredom resetting, resetting just for the hell of it, damee is too now! There are also people who reset to achieve certain goals, 100 no wins losses newbie virt etc etc...

But as a I said first, the "Previous" stat being permanent would solve everything.

i think if you reset then you shouldnt be called a newbie anymore, cuz well your not really are you?

how long would that last for?
a person could get to virt then reset and never play again and forever have a virt title?
