ok so heres what im thinking, there needs to be more names not just novice, intermediate, adept, professional and virtuoso.
its mainly adept and professional i have an issue with, without looking at the persons profile "adept" could mean 700 or 799 or professional could mean 800 or 899 which are two massively different skill levels.
i play 99% friendlies and tournaments so i would like to know in advance what level of player i am facing without checking the profile. not that it makes a difference really since i play everybody anyway just like to know.
so im thinking maybe split adept into 2, from 700 to 750 and 750 to 800 and the same with professional.
any ideas for or against?

This has been discussed fairly recently (although I cannot find the thread). In principle, I agree with your suggestion, but how would this apply to yourself dec?
Given that, by your own admission, you play mainly friendlies (and the fact that there are lots of players who reach the 800 threshold and then do the same), would addtional ranking criteria really tell an opponent anything more about you...?
For example, you could face player "zzz" with 800.0 in arc, yet all he plays now are friendlies. He is regularly getting 1/2s and cents, and his level should probable be higher 800s (or more). Does the fact that he is listed as e.g. "professional 1 (or 2)" tell you any more?
I think you just need to look at overall stats, and perhaps recent matches played to have a better idea, rather than relying purely on the rank.

looking at my own stats really doesnt tell much either since i played only maybe 30 ranked games on each before i decided they werent worth the hassle but i do see your point, but alot of people are obsessed with rank
no idea is completely foolproof but for the majority of users it would work
