Hi, Quick Question, when do deactivated names become reavailable, as far as I am aware it used to be a year. I just wondered if this had changed at all?

It is justm now with the servers being busier, would it not make sense to release them earlier?

Well of course it does because anyone could take the name, i wasnt talking for the person who had it originally, i meant available for anyone

Yes, deactivated users are removed after 1 year. Dormant accounts don't have that much of an impact on system performance.

i think i answered the question in my head before i ask but, why are dormant accounts kept in the first place?

I think it was to keep the forum looking tidy, way to many deleted user posts.

yeah that was what i had in mind, also stops people returning with same account when banned was my other reason

Good point. Deactivated accounts aren't being deleted, they will next patch.

maybe after next patch mike, deactivate kop and remake 2good?

Haha me too, he never used to have underscores either side of it! People poach the names to try and become the legend i guess There's nothing wrong with it, people can do what they like. Just humours me. So when 2good becomes available again,get in there quick the_kop!
I like the idea of a 'hall of fame' thing to keep names 'safe'.

All deactivated names over 12 months old will be removed at midnight UK time tonight.
