i always hate guests joining my unranked games so i think that you should log there i.p address, and give them a certain amount of playing time, then once it is over, they'll sign up because they haven't got any more playing time. This would also mean there would be alot more members.

Also mean there would be a lot more members? Not too sure about that because people play as guests for several reasons, main 2 generally being either at work or just testing the game.

Secondly, logging the i.p address to block the usage as a guest is a very bad idea. What if you play on public computers with the same i.p address? Won't be able to play as a guest.

Finally, if you're that bothered about playing guests, then don't play them. Simple as that.

Guests are great for Friendlies I think as most of them leave the white in bad positions which gives you the change to practice a shot you mostly wouldnt get!!

See where u are coming from and what annoys me is when your on a high break they Jog on!!

Guests also offer a challenge which you don't get with members which is the fact you have no idea how good or bad they are until you start to play them.

What is wrong with playing guests ???

Is it because (being very new to the game) some of them are poor opponents or because some of them are actually quite good (so you don't get an easy win/half/cent) and being guests you have no way to tell which it is?

I play a lot of friendlies myself for practice purposes and actually like playing guests because of the randomness of opponent (it's the closest thing to having a randomly generated 'practice bot' - no offence to guests intended) also it gives you the opportunity of chatting to them and perhaps encouraging them to sign up (far more preferential than treating them like second class citizens by imposing ridiculous restrictions on them - guests are potential new members not gatecrashers to an elitist club).
