The more you play, the better you get.

Also playing users which are a bit better (not too good as it's too much of a step to do at once). You can learn the difference between your game and their game and improve.

Practice is key.

Practice is the best way
just keep on the practice table, smash the pack up, and pot them, and keep doing it untill you dont miss , and work on your position and stuff

like everyone says practice makes perfect.

Try out different cursors to see if you prefer one over another.

Also practice the black as much as possible until you know 90% a black on the spot is going in.

To make a good break spin is the key and thats why practicing wil improve your game.

Watch your opponents watch what spin they use and watch how the white reacts in different scenarios, over time eventually you will automatically pot balls using correct spin like driving a car , it becomes auto pilot.

go in some game rooms and watch the good players try to learn from them.

You can go on youtube, type in funkysnooker and you can watch some of the best breaks on there.

The main tip i give is..............

Dont get annoyed if your not playing well, it takes a long time to become good it wont happen over night, It took me thousands of games to get my first century so really dont go expecting miracles.

play play play,

play players around a similar level so you get table time.

and when your playing the best dont sit there getting upset because your not getting a go, watch and learn from them.

The best way to learn (This is what i did). Play friendlys against guests for a while until you can hit at least a 20-40 break. After that create a game or join a friendly game against better opponents.

Basically;

The harder the opponent; The easier it is to learn how to play the game well and understand spin.

Also;

Do not leave the game room just because you are losing; let you or your opponent finish up/or try to;

Also;

Join tournaments; Tournaments are a great and enjoyable way to learn how to play because there is no guests in tournaments; only members, This is probably the best way to practice by far.

best tip of all is relax and play your own game , think , time and use spin to place the ball where needed for next shot ..... i always plan ahead to clear table as fast as possible (as am used to this) but over time people do pick it up and pick up they own game to become a good player on this site

practice is the key here, and usually i try to play as many guests as possible, but i do like a challenge sometimes from likes of dame, dest who literally kick my butt haha.

practice shots your weak at, play 1 game type until you get really good at it, know your spin.

straight pool helped me out with breaking the pack, also some good advice a while back from a friend of mine.

heres some really good advice, from blutch:

if you have good patience play original as much as you can. to start with you may only make 20-30 breaks but in time these will become 40-50 then 50+. If you are making 50+ breaks on original then you are clearly able to pot a ball well, as i personally would say that original is the hardest table to pot on (small balls big table, not easy).

Then play arcade or regular, your potting should be awesome on these as you are used to original and then you can work on your position now your potting is secure. as lee said, learning to use spin is massively important. Arcade is good to practice positional play as it is a small table and therefore the gaps between balls are smaller relative to the other tables, therefore better position required to make big breaks.

The advice to watch top pros also is good, you will learn a lot that way.
